"where is he." chanhee was in the library, waiting for his bestfriend. he would usually come after classes were finished but an hour has passed and chanhee was left in a table aimlessly tapping through his phone as to not look lonely to others.

he decided that there was no use of being in the library since changmin wasn't there and decided to get something to eat.

walking to the canteen, his phone buzzed and a message from changmin popped through the screen.

won't be able to see u todayyy
srryyyyy :((( u can go home if u want
I HAVE GREATTTT NEWSSS THOOO
I'LL TELL U TOMMOROW MORNING
MEET ME IN THE FOUNTAIN!!!

a small pout made it's way through chanhee's lips as he read the message. he was always looking forward to being with changmin after school.

being happy for him about the "great news" though, he wrote a quick reply.

skipping the canteen, he headed home with a heavy heart.

——

"i miss you"

"i miss you too"
"wait why did i just say that?"

"i don't know, but same"

"who are you?"
"are you my soulmate?"

"who are you?"

"choi chanhee."

"chanhee?! kim younghoon's soulmate?! my best-"

"what! isn't changmin his soulmate."

"the fuck? i don't even have a soulmate"

"cha-changmin?"

——

"CHANHEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"

said boy was tackled in a hug by changmin causing them to almost fall down the fountain.

"whoah, calm down." chanhee pushed the brunette off.

"hehe sorry. about the good news-"

"let me guess, kim youghoon's your soulmate."

changmin stopped mid-sentence in shock. "how did you know! are you psychic or something."

"chanhee?! kim younghoon's soulmate?! my best-"

"what! isn't changmin his soulmate."

"just a gut feeling." chanhee faked a smile as his heart sank. "anyways congratulations!" he hugged his giddy friend.

changmin pulled away and pulled the arm of a sheepish raven haired boy. "chanhee meet younghoon! younghoon this is my bestfriend, chanhee!"

damn he's handsome, chanhee thought. mustering up the courage to fake another smile he let his hand out. "nice to meet you! so what are you two now, are you like dating?"

"uhh, we decided to take things slow and let just let it flow." younghoon smiled shaking chanhee's hand.

"also, i'm sorry chanhee but i can't always walk home with you now." changmin pouted.

"oh no! changmin it's fine, i don't wanna take your time with your bestfriend." younghoon said.

"no, don't be silly. it's fine i understand." a sickly feeling started growing in chanhee's stomach. "damn must be nice to have a soulmate."

"i'm sure you'll find yours soon. oh! the bell will almost ring. see you later!" changmin said.

"yeah, congratulations again!" chanhee waved his smile fading away.

——

the two were at the library. silently doing some work. it wasn't an awkward one though. it was rather one of comfort.

this silence however, has made chanhee lost in his thoughts. slowly pushing the cart, he admired his bestfriend placing the books at it's shelves.

a frown made it's way through his lips as he was reminded that he was just his friend. he knew that he wasn't changmin's soulmate and would eventually find his but, he had always hoped. hoped that there still would be a chance. even if they weren't soulmates.

although he always denied it, he finally accepted it. he was bloody in love with his bestfriend. bloody in love with someone who was falling for someone else.

he knew it was wrong. he knew that he should've been happy for changmin instead. he knew that he was just a friend. still, it hurts.
