Chapter Two: No One Really Likes a Meet and Greet

Lloyd and Thorn could see that they were now on the opposite side of the city, towards their home but more off to the east. They then began to circle around a building being built with 6 people working on it and three noticed the golden dragon and cheered out. Lloyd landed and gently helped Thorn down to her feet as she wasn't used to flying dragon airline.

"Lloyd! You're back in town." Kai cheered as he walked to him.

"Oh, and you brought Thorn," Jay said in shock.

"Yeah, I was flying through and she was getting off work so I picked her up," Lloyd said.

"Yo." Was the greeting she gave everyone.

The ninjas looked back at Lloyd and Thorn. Looking at the two, they almost would pass for twins with near matching faces and blonde hair. However, the two were complete opposites. Thorn with her dark and gothic looks while Lloyd had his green hoodie and jeans on. Biggest difference was Thorn was far more threatening than Lloyd.

They once thought that Lloyd was like his dad but since they met the whole Garmadon family, Lloyd was more like his mom and was almost like a softer version of their dad. Thorn's features, on the other hand, were sharper and her fierce pale grey eyes reminded the ninjas of Garmadon's eyes when he was still evil.

"Thorn, oh yeah, how have you been?" Jay asked very awkwardly.

Last they saw her she was in a hospital bed.

"Oh yes, how have you've been," Zane said, looking through his data banks.

"Well," Thorn said a bit unsure at his question, "Been a while."

"Really has, we haven't seen you since you were in the hospi-" Kai was going to mention the time they met her at the hospital but he got sharp looks from everyone.

Thorn just raised her eyebrow at them, "Since the hospital."

"Yeah," Kai said meekly.

"Sorry," Nya spoke for Kai, "He usually puts his foot in his mouth."

"It's fine," Thorn said, wanting to get past the thought of it.

"Lloyd, I thought you would be out west by now?" Nya asked.

"Yeah, I was on my way and I figured I stop and visit my family," Lloyd said cheerfully as he gave a side hug to Thorn who was annoyed with the hug.

"Get off," Thorn shoved Lloyd off and Lloyd just laughed.

"Hey, where's Uncle Wu?" Lloyd asked, "We want to say hey before we head off back home."

"I'm coming," Wu's voice called out from inside the building.

He walked out to Lloyd and hugged him.

"How's my favorite nephew?" Wu asked.

"I'm your only nephew," Lloyd said, a bit embarrassed by his uncle, "Hey, Thorn's also here, I got her to tag along with me."

"Thorn, hello, how have you've been? Recovering well?" Wu asked, but he didn't bother to give her a hug.

"Um, yeah, just scars left," Thorn answered.

"We're so glad that you decided to go home and live with your family again." said Wu.

"Yeah, been real fun living at dad's place." Thorn replied, kind of passive aggressively.

"Well, you could always train to be a ninja like Lloyd and travel the world." Wu said.

"Hard pass," Thorn said, now a little irritated.
