Chapter 9

Meanwhile that night, the Luyturians finally land on Earth and are halfway to the Ezekiels. Janakolra and the main Luyturian members are torturing an innocent guy. The guy tries to fight back but Janakolra bloodbends the guy and uses her metal bending power to paralyze him.

Janakolra: I'll finish that earthling. Acacia, use your metal bending to paralyze him and keep him there so he doesn't escape.

Acacia then uses metal bending the metal bend mercury onto the guy and paralyze him.

The victim: what do you guys want from me?! Who are you guys?

Janakolra: it doesn't matter who we are. Your not gonna live much longer anyways.

The victim: I never did anything to you! Just let me live!

Janakolra: no thanks. I do like getting my revenge on earthlings. Dustin, Kemion and Acacia! End his life right now.

Dustin, Kemion and Acacia then poison the victim with mercury and electrocute him to death as Janakolra watches with entertainment.

Early the next morning at the Ezekiel's house, the family is discussing the fight with the Luyturians again. Stella then answers the door to Cindy and Kelly.

Stella: hey guys! Come on in.

Cindy: so any updates on the Luyturians?

Stella: we sensed them in Washington last night. They could be closer than we think. Everyone is discussing it upstairs. We'll fill you guys in.

Stella, Cindy and Kelly walk upstairs and continue to discuss the Luyturians.

Caden: Janakolra usually wants her victims incapacitated before she attacks. I don't know if she will try to take out me or Stella first. She usually goes for the ones with the most special powers.

Gerald: too bad not all of us have the shield power.

Stella: will it even help me fight though?

Jenny: yes it could and it could help the rest of us. Not only can you shield yourself but you can also shield others if you learn to project it.

Stella: Really?!

Nim: when I first learned it, I could only use it with my palms but the more I learned, I can now radiate it all over my body with my mind.

Stella: show me how to use it!

Nim: let's practice outside.

Caden, Stella, Jenny, Nim, Gerald, Yan, Cindy and Kelly all go outside to the woods so Stella can practice her shield power.

Nim to Stella: so just like any other ability we have, you have to really focus and visualize, learn how it moves and focus on projecting it. How hot it is, what colors it may be. Look to who and where you want it to expand to.

Stella then focuses on projecting her shield power to the group but doesn't have control of it yet. Stella then tries again, but again loses control.

Nim: she needs someone to motivate her.

Caden then steps forward and volunteers to be Stella's motivation.

Stella: Caden, no! I don't want to hurt you

Caden: it's fine starlight, I can take it. You know I'm a tough little guy.

Stella: but Caden I'm not ready to—

Nim then electrocutes Caden and Caden squeals in pain and grunts

Stella: Caden! I just said I wasn't ready and Nim, I told you not to electrocute him yet!
