Chapter 4 - the story of abhyendra and maithali

Recap: piya knows that sidharth is a vampire and he is the reason Abhay bit piya. Piya asked Abhay to trust her with the truth and said, "agar tum chahte ho me tum par bharosa karu, to tumhe bhi to mujhe par bharosa karna hoga na Abhay. Me sach ka samna kar sakti hu Abhay".

Abhay looked at her. He was still unsure of whether to tell Piya everything or not. Piya saw his face and understood his dilemma and put her hand on his hand to reassure him to place his trust on her. Abhay looked at her trusting eyes and thought "Piya aaj me is pyar k khatir sab batane ja raha hu tumhe. Pata nai iska anjam kya hoga. Par me puri koshish karuga tumhe protect karne ki. Kuch nahi hone duga me tumhe. Mere jeene vajah tum hi to ho."

Abhay : Piya, Sidharth hi mera bhai he. Mera and uska khoon ek hi he.

Saying this he opens his mind to Piya and lets her in guiding her through  his mind as she read Abhay's mind.

Piya reads that they were brothers. He was Abhayendra in his human life and Siddharth was his elder brother. Their father, Mahendra Singh, was in king's army who was tasked with queen's security and their mother, Mayavati, was queen's chief maiden. They showered their love on young Siddharth who received all their attention while they awaited their younger son who was growing inside Mayavati's womb.

Soon the queen gave birth to a beautiful princess and entire town gathered to welcome their new princess as the royal priest performed her naming ceremony. The town broke into cheer as the king and queen announced name for their young princess "Rajkumari Gayatrisinghi Shivranjani Maithali Pandher" named after her mother Shivranjani and king's late mother Gayatrisinghi. Queen asked Mayavati to take little Maithali to her chambers as the loud noise broke her sleep.

Just as Mayavati carried princess to her chamber, Mahendra jumped on pushing the queens and king as his ever vigilant senses heard an arrow wheezing past the crowd. Everyone broke into a run to save their lives as king's chief lieutenant launched an assault to find the attacker. Pandher was a wealthy and mighty kingdom and this also brought with it few enemies of the nation, a group of rebels against king's strict and harsh rules. Few years ago king had ordered death penalty to a young girl from their kingdom who had fallen in love with enemy kingdom's boy. The girl was sister of their army's strategist and king had considered it to be a treason. His brother had launched rebellion against king after this as he considered this to be king's cruelty. As everyone ran here and there in attempts to save their lives king asked Mahendra, to escort queen safely to her chambers.

In the palace Mayavati was changing princess's clothes and trying to get her to sleep when she heard about the attack by rebellion group. "Rajkumari Maithali shant ho jaye. Mahendra jaldi hi aapki Mata ko surakshit lekar ate hi hoge. Aap bilkul nishchint rahiye. Aur jis tarah Mahendra har pal aapki mata ki surksha ki jimmedari nibhate he usi tarah mera beta bhi bada hokar aapki surkhsha ka dayitva uthayega. (Calm down princess Maithali. Your mother will soon arrive here safely escorted by Mahendra. You need not worry. When you grow up my son will protect you just like Mahendra protects your mother)", said Mayavati as she caressed her belly and soon she felt a kick as if her little unborn son was understanding everything his mother was speaking.

On the other hand Mahendra was fighting with three heavily armed rebels at the same time who were targeting to kill queen. Young Siddharth who was shivering in fear held queen's hand as queen tried to placate him "gabhraiye Mat Siddharth. Aap to apane Bahadur peeta ke bête he. (Don't be scared Siddharth. You are a son of brave father)." Mahendra asked queen to quickly leave away from there as he tried to hold the rebels off. Queens nodded and she clutched young Siddhartha's hand to pull him away from there. Rebels attacked Mahendra as he ensured queen's safety but was martyred in the process. When Mayavati heard the news of death of her husband the trauma caused her to go in labour but in doing so she lost her life. Before dying she named her son and took him in arms, "Abhayendra! Apane peeta ki tarah tum bhi Takatvar, chalak and Saksham hoga. Aur meri tarah apane Pyar aur Eshas se sabka dil Jeet loge (Abhayendra! . Just like your father you will be courageous, clever and vigilant. You will win everyone's heart with the love and the empathy)". She then gave him to Siddharth and tasked him with the responsibility of taking care of his brother before she closed her eyes forever to join her husband in death. Other maidens of the palace took the boys under their care.
