Chapter 6

Recap: Abhayendra and Princess Maithali finally confess their feelings for each other in the forest

"Hum bhi to aapko itna chahne lage he ke aapse duri bardasht nahi hoti", words echoed in Abhayendra's ears as they both embraced into a tight hug. The unspoken feelings that they harboured in their hearts since the days Maithali has returned to the kingdom now filled their minds.

Days passed and their love flowed deeper into their hearts like an untamed river knowing no bounds.

Abhayendra: ye ek garib ka tohfa he shayad tumhe pasand na aye.

Maithali: ye to tumne apane haathon we banai he Abhayendra. Anmol he ye humare life. Apani jaan se bhi jyada sambhal kar rakhega hum ise.

Said Maithali as she put on the delicate silver earring with pink dangling crystals. They meet each other near the abandoned hut everyday hidden from the eyes of their king and the kingdom.

King on the other hand, worried about the future of his kingdom and daughter, sent out invitations to many wealthy and propsperous kingdoms for his daughter's swayamvar in hopes to find a suitor for princess. Maithali however denied them all for she had her heart set on one and only Abhayendra.

Unbeknownst to the world as the two lovers surrendered each other in their lover's arm one night, Siddharth saw them from behind the tree.

"He took away your mother from you and now he strives to steal your princess from you", words corrupted Siddharth's mind as he dismounted from his horse. "But he is my brother and it was not his fault" said another voice in her heart. "A brother who stands in your way of happiness today." Said the voice in his head again. "But he loves me and he would not stand in my way of happiness. He'd do anything for me." said his heart. "Yet today he stand between you and your love. You loved him too, didn't you? You gave him everything since the day you lost your parents. for what? To see this day? To see him steal your one true love?" Said the head again. "But I should be happy for him. He has found his true love and she loves him too. I've seen them together and I can't stand in the way of his happiness" argues his heart. "And what about your love? You know you want her Siddharth, don't you? You love her and you want her. She can be yours. She only has to know you love her.", tempted his head again. "But she .. she does not love me", said his heart weakly. "Not yet.. but she will soon. She just needs to know it. You must show her how much you love her", hissed the voice in his head. "But how? She is with Abhayendra" "then we shall remove him from our path. Won't we Siddharth?".
A malice smile spread on Siddharth's lips as the voice win his head won over his heart wounding him and as the bitterness and malevolence bested him, he slashed few of the horses using his dagger.

#next day morning Maithali's chambers
"Zindagi ki har subah ki shuruat hum tumhare sath karna chahte he Abhayendra. Ab ek pal bhi hum tumse dur nahi rhe a chahte he" said Maithali as she sunk her head in Abhyendra's chest relishing in his embrace.

Abhayendra: jald ji sab thik ho jayega Maithali. Me tumse bhot karta hu Maithali. Apani jindagi se bhi jyada he.

Maithali: jindagi se bhi jyada ?

Abhayendra: haan jindgai se bhi jyada.

Maithali: bhay lagta he Abhayendra kahi ye Sapna to nahi.
Abhayendra: ankhen kholo Maithali ye sach he. Me kahi nahi jauga. Yahi hu me tumhare pass. Sada ke liye sirf tumhara.

Maithali: aur uske baad bhi?

Abhayendra: Haan uske baad bhi.

Abhayendra tilted Maithali's head slightly to make her look at him pulling her closer to him in tight embrace as they kissed each other.
