9. I Wanna Be Your Endgame

The airing date for The King: Eternal Monarch was approaching fast, and their respective agencies just reminded them that on April, 16th they would attend the press conference. In early April, Go Eun told Min Ho in a not so gentle tone: "We need to make some ground rules for the press conference."

"Oh? Is that so?" Min Ho asked, feigning his most innocent tone.

Go Eun narrowed her eyes, giving him her most stern, "Don't play with me, I know what you're hiding in your sleeves."

He put his script on the table, face down on the pages he was memorizing, and readying himself to listen.

"I don't want any skinships. No cheesy, unnecessary remarks. Better yet, let's not even stare at each other."

".........People will think we hate each other. It will be all over the media in less than an hour after the press conference started. "Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun Hate Each Other, Drama is Expected to be the Worst Work of Their Careers.""

"........Lee Min Ho-ssi!"

"Kim Go Eun-ssi."

"I mean it."

"I'm not joking, either. I used to be cheerful and friendly with all my past female leads. If I were suddenly cold with you, people will assume I hate your guts."

"Well......tone it down, then. Let's appear like colleagues."

"But we are colleagues" he argued.

Go Eun scoffed. How could he say that when the iced coffee he bought her had the post-it with his handwriting, "Marry me?"? The plastic cup was between them, and his eyes were outright laughing at her.

"I mean it. If you act like you normally are, people will think that we're.....we're......"

"Dating?"

She threw him a look again, this time warning him to be serious or she'd get really mad.

"Ahrasseo. I'll be in my best behaviour."

"Will you, really?"

"I'll do my best."

She looked a bit unsure, but then sighed and nodded.

"Speaking of the press conference....."

Go Eun sensed a shift in his tone. The teasing tone was gone, and he changed it to a slightly serious one.

"Our outfit, can I arrange it again?"

"Are you going to cover me up like the Swoon event again?"

"You look really good even when you're fully covered."

She raised her eyebrows.

"You're not someone who liked to flaunt your skin that much, anyway."

"I think it depends on the occasion. My mood, and how pretty the things I'm wearing are."

"Did you hate the dresses I chose during the Swoon interview?*They were Chanel, right?"

"Aniyo. I kinda like them."

"So I didn't make the wrong choices" he smiled smugly. "This time too, can I arrange it?"

".........algesseumnida."

He was grinning.

Go Eun should've been aware that he was up to something, but she was already busy memorizing her script again.
