"So when were you planning on telling me that you originally had a different successor in mind?" You asked nonchalantly as you took a spoonful of your home-cooked meal." All might sighed after taking a sip of his orange juice.
"I didn't want to worry you or your mother. It wasn't something either of you needed to be preoccupied about." You simply nodded, trying to see from his point of view, the number one hero point of view, always putting others first.
"Right, well I'm guessing you know that Mirio is going to be training me from now on?" All Might paused for a moment before raising an eyebrow. "They didn't tell you?"
"Must have been a spur of the moment decision." He didn't seem angry, it was more like relived, maybe he already knew that it was a good idea since he knew what Mirio was really capable of. "I'm sure he has something special in mind to train you."
You showed him a small smile right before looking at the time. "Oh shoot! I've gotta get going to class!" You quickly gobbled up your breakfast and went to brush your teeth and gather your things. "I'll see you in the afternoon Uncle Toshi!" You gave him a peck on the cheek before heading out the door.
You rushed down the streets and at the very end of the intersection you could see him there waiting for you. You couldn't help but show a goofy smile as you decided it was faster to just teleport next to him. "Morning!"
Shoto was somewhat startled when you randomly appeared. "I'm going to have to get used to that aren't I?" You chuckled as you teleported the both of you to the front of the school.
"Yup." You started walking ahead, mentally preparing yourself for the new training session you would have after school. "Looks like you've got a bit on your mind," Shoto commented as he took your hand in his as a form of comfort.
"Yeah, but it's nothing to get worried about." You reassured him with a smile that would warm up his face. He just nodded and looked forward.
It was the last day of class before the internships but it went on just like any other day, hero training in the morning, classes, lunch, and a few more classes to finish it all off.
You watched as your friends waved goodbye, already heading back to the dorms. "Do you want me to stay behind with you? I can do my homework on the sidelines." Shoto asked, somewhat concerned about how this would all turn out and if you were going to be alright. You felt a lot better knowing that he would be there supporting you so you agreed and let him tag along.
As you entered the gym, you noticed that Mirio was already there with his hero uniform on along with Aizawa.
"Y/N! Are you ready to get started!" He seemed so full of energy and ready to tackle anything that would get thrown his way. It was refreshing, it gave you more confidence.
"You bet!" You cheered and walked away from Shoto as he took his place ways away, not wanting to interfere.
"Alright Y/n, here's how this is gonna work," Aizawa began, "You'll be focusing your quirk on a single point, from where the pain usually starts to spread. You tell us when, and Mirio will activate his quirk." It all seemed easy enough so you nodded your head and brought your attention back to Mirio.
"It usually starts from the right arm, then the right leg, left leg, left arm, head, and then chest." You explained.
"So it moves in a circular form around the body." He pieces it together.
"Exactly."
"Don't worry too much about making it get out of control, that's why I'm here." Added Aizawa.
"Right." You took a deep breath and concentrated on not letting it spread.
"Ready whenever you are Y/n." You took one last glance at Shoto, he was calm and not concerned at all, it was his way of showing that you had nothing to fear.
"Let's start." You focused on his right arm and let your anger engulf you as you stared him down. Mirio flinched at first and that's when he knew what part to faze, and instantly, the pain went away.
"I'm doing fine." He said out loud just in case. You could feel your Quirk working and so far it's only been a few seconds so you decided to keep it steady. Miro was attentive as to what could happen next but all of a sudden he felt a surge of pain in his right leg, catching him off guard.
"My right leg..." He immediately fazed his right leg as well. "I think it's starting to spread."
"Alright Y/n, that's enough." Aizawa looked at you but you were so immersed in the rage you created that you couldn't hear him.
"My, my left leg." Mirio said in pain, and that was clearly the sign that Aizawa needed to activate his quirk.
You felt your anger subside and you blinked a few times to come back to our senses. "What happened?-" You were cut off when you suddenly felt the pain spike though your arm and leg, making you fall to the ground.
Shoto could no longer ignore the current situation so he rushed to your side and the only thing he could do to try and make it less painful was freezing your arm and leg.
It was as if everything you were feeling suddenly went numb and you could finally think straight. "Are you okay?" Shoto asked, seeing that you didn't have that pained expression anymore.
"Yeah, it's fine, I'm fine now." He took that as his signal to defrost the ice that encased you. It took a while before you could finally stand on your own and move around.
"I'm really sorry about that Mirio." You bowed as much as you could, not knowing any other way to apologize.
"No no, It's no problem Y/n, I knew what I was getting myself into when I agreed to do this. We just have to keep trying and soon enough you'll have your quirk under control." He gave you a big smile and a thumbs up in hopes of bringing back your courage to continue. And it did.
"Right!" You stretched your muscles before getting ready to try this again and just as before everyone got back to their original spots.
It was a long training session and countless hours of struggle and pain, but by the end of the day, you had finally managed to focus on a single point to where your quirk would activate. It didn't necessarily have to start in the right arm anymore, now it could be any part.
"You've done really well for the first part of training Y/n!" Mirio congratulated. "Next time we'll work on redirecting the pain you receive, maybe spreading it out so that it's less painful." you nodded your head, too tired to even speak.
"I can take her back to the dorms," Shoto spoke up and walked towards you. Aizawa squinted his eyes at the white/red-haired boy. It didn't look like he was using his quirk on the poor boy but it sure was still pretty frightening. "We'll be seeing you tomorrow then Mr.Aizawa." Shoto could feel his intense stare and questioned why he was doing that to him.
"Alright then, be careful."
"See you tomorrow!" Mirio waved goodbye, and you honestly wondered how he still had energy.
Shoto grabbed your arm and placed it around his shoulders to pull some of your weight, seeing you so tired out. Once you two were getting closer to the dorms, he decided that it would be best to just carry you on his back.
"You did really well today Y/n," Shoto spoke up as he walked down the street, the lamps being the only light to show the path.
"I'm glad." Was all you could muster to say making him chuckle.
"It's so weird seeing you this silent." If it weren't for your tired muscles, you would have smacked his head for sure. "I also wanted to mention, I got a message from my dad's agency, I'm gonna have to start tomorrow." With what little energy you had you hugged him the slightest bit tighter.
"Yeah, I know..." He kept walking for a while until the dorms were insight. "I'll try my best to see you as often as possible." You nodded knowing that you couldn't ask for more, you knew that this was the path that he would take and you had to let him go and get training too.
Shoto made it to the dorms and took the elevator. He made his way to our room and you handed over your key to which he opened the door. You got off of him and immediately flopped on your bed. "Thanks for helping me out today Shoto." You said right before falling asleep. Shoto let out a chuckle before planing a kiss on the crown of your head.
"Anything for you."
