Jamie's POV

After college, I wait by the gate for Iris, so we can go by her house as promised.

'Oh wait, I need to call my dad and tell him not to wait up.' I think to myself so I pull out my phone and connect the call.

"Hi honey." he sounds really drowsy, it must be his hangover still giving him grief.

"Dad, I'll be at Iris's after college to finish some work, don't wait up." and before he can reply I hang up the phone, because I do not want to listen to his long lecture about staying home with him like the good girl that I need to be.

"Need some help carrying that?" I hear a unfamiliar voice behind me.

I turn around to find the source.

"Me?" I manage to blurt uncertainly.

"Yes, you haha." the voice belongs to a tall dark haired boy. His eyes light brown, a very light shade of brown, and his hair swept back from his face effortless yet perfect.

"Oh." I say clumsily as I look down at my gigantic Product Design folder resting in between my fingertips.

"I don't mind holding it for you." he reaches down to take my folder.

"Oh no Its fine!" I jump back. "I'm just waiting for my friend, then I'll be driving back in her car so I won't need to carry it anyway, thank you though." I smile as sweet as possible then turn around to try and shoo him away.

"I'm Carter, Landon Carter that is." he puts forward his hand waiting patiently for me to shake it.

I turn back around and give a sarcastic smile that only I would know of. "Jamie Sullivan." I finally shake his sweaty soft hand.

"So what do you study, Jaye? Do you mind if I call you Jaye? Sorry I have a habit of throwing out nicknames." he chuckles.

"I study Media Studies, Product Design, English Lit and Psychology, and it's fine that's what everyone calls me anyway." I respond politely and at the same time mentally hoping Iris would come and save me now.

-------

"Jamie!" I hear Iris's voice bringing me to turn around in relief, my heart jumping around inside my chest.

"Who's your new friend?" she nudges me and winks.

"Oh this is Landon, we just met." I glare into her face with the fakest smile so she can telepathically understand she needs to shutup right now.

"Hi, I'm Landon." he sticks his hand out once again for skin contact with Iris.

She ignores his hand and pulls him into a hug, "sorry I'm a hugger, not a hand shaker." she smiles as she let's go.

"Well we should be going, we've got a lot of work to do!" I say pulling Iris's arm.

"What's the rush! I'm sure Landon would want to get to know us. *Cough* you." I know what she's doing, she's trying to get me to meet new people, but not today Iris.

"Okay Iris, you can stay and chat. I'll just head home and do my work there." I smile, and walk off.

"Jamie we can go for cofftea!" She knows I love cofftea, which is why I would never choose to have it with a stranger. He doesn't deserve to know me like that.

On the other hand I really don't believe I'm allowing myself to go home and face the nightmares all over again, but right now I really don't want to meet new people which leaves me no choice. Even if it does mean interacting with my father.

I begin to walk home in the feeling of light rain, oh I do love rain. Especially when it is gushing down and hitting the surface of your skin, its the most soothing feeling ever, but right now it is very light and I can hardly feel anything on my face which is very irritating so I walk faster.

-------

After a quick 7minute walk home, I turn the latch and unlock the back door to avoid my father noticing.

"Where the EFF have you been?" he stares right at me as I walk in.

"Nowhere, I came straight home." I reply.

"LIAR! YOU EFFING LIAR!" He roars at the top of his lungs and pushes me against the door behind me.

"I'm not lying." I whimper.

"You're a little freak, do you know that?" he whispers a millimetre away from my face. Breathing deeply so I'm able to feel his warm breath spread across my cheeks.

I begin to feel his hand, his warm hand spreading across my inner thigh. I squeal as he covers my mouth with his oversized fingers.

His hand works its way up into the forbidden area as he begins to caress me, yet holding me hostage against the door. He goes harder as tears rush down my cheeks whilst my mouth shakes behind his hand. I slam my eyes shut to ease the pain.

Immediately everything is let go of as he takes a step back and pauses for a 30 seconds.

He walks across to the stove without eye contact and blurts "go get dressed into your nightie honey, dinner will be ready in 10 minutes" his head jerks back at me as he smiles widely showing his teeth like a sweet father would.

I gawk at him in confusion and fear.

I snap back into reality and realise what he had said. At that point I race up the stairs without a word and bolt into my room still shook up of what had occurred just minutes ago.
