"A month later"
"Hey Skylar..Ms Hill said to bring you this." Bucky said
"Oh right. You are done with tutoring. So you can go back to your normal routine after today." She said
Bucky smiled at her. "Thank God. No offense to you. It's just my brother won't stop making fun of me." He said
"None taken." She said
"I'm glad I'm done in time to take Isobel to HOCO. Are you going to the dance?" He said
"Oh no." She said as read over his last English paper she had to help him with.
"Why not?" He said
"Because I'm not going. I wasn't asked to go so I'm not gonna go." She said
"What? I don't understand you are cute. You don't exactly give off the vibe of nerd." He said
"Thanks.." she said
"I'm just saying." He said
"Your paper could use some work. There is some grammatical errors and a lot of run on sentences." She said as she got her purple pen out and started to mark all over his paper.
"I didn't mean to offend you Skye. I just you are different that's all. Not that it's a bad thing." He said
She rolled her eyes. "Buck I'm a nerd I know that but just because I don't walk around here with my baggy hoodies doesn't mean that everyone doesn't know that I am a nerd. So just stop. Here fix these mistakes." She said
Bucky took the paper. "Look Buck I'm not upset about it. Homecoming is more for the jocks and the popular crowd that's your scene. My circle of friends and I usually just don't attend school dances or pep rallies." She said
Bucky swallowed hard. "I'm sorry if I offended you Skye." He said
"It's okay." She said
He finished up his paper on his laptop she read it over before he printed it. He was intoxicated by her citrusy fruity smell since she was close.
"It's good. You can print it." She said
"Thanks." He said as he clicked print.
She signed his tutoring form that he was done. When he came back to the table from going to the printer the bell rang.
"Thanks for helping me Skye." He said
"Welcome." She said as she gathered up her stuff.
"And again I am sorry if I upset you earlier I was trying to upset you. It's just I was excited about the dance and I thought you would be too." He said
"It's fine." She said
"Okay. See you around I guess." He said as they walked out of the library.
When she walked away he got one last whiff of the perfume. "What is that scent.." he whispered as he went to meet Isobel and his friends.
As Skylar was at her locker Bucky and his friends were coming down the freshmen hall. She looked down the hall to see them all cozied up with their significant others.
"Cute my ass. I am nothing like those girls. For god sakes you are dating the cheer captain."
She thought to herself as she looked back at her locker. Bucky looked up the hall to see her switching her books. A brunette and a red head joined her as they walked up the back stair well to head to English.
He looked down then laughed at something Sam said as the bell rang. They all headed to Art class.
