8 months later..
School was out for the summer. It was the first day of summer break. Bucky was sleeping in his room that he shares with Brody. James came upstairs when he hadn't come down for breakfast.
He flicked his ear. "James Buchanan get up." He said
Bucky rolled over on his back. "What? It's summer break.." he said
"You are sixteen now. So that means you can now legally work for me. And if you want the parts you need to fix up your grand daddy's truck you are going to earn the money." James said as he started towards the door.
Bucky sat up. "Are you serious?" He said
"As a heart attack son. Brody Dylan and Jasper all three earned their money to buy the cars they wanted. You will do the same just because we own a auto shop didn't mean I was going to order the parts for you from the parts store I use." James said as he walked out.
Bucky plopped back down on his bed. "For fucksakes..I don't even want that truck anymore." He whispered to himself.
He dragged himself out of bed and pulled some clothes on. Once he was dressed for the day he joined Brody at the breakfast table.
"When you boys have a break I need one of you to go by the farmers market in town. Here is my list." She said as she hands the list to Brody.
"We will try mom." He said
James came in and said "Here son. Here's your shirt for the shop." as he handed him a blue button up.
Bucky unfolded it he saw "Barnes Auto" on one side and on the other side was "James Jr."
"Dad..everyone knows me as Bucky." He said
"And I understand that. But you are a junior and that is how you will answer the phone if need be." James said
Bucky shook his head. "I'm going on. Don't be late boys." James said as he grabbed his keys.
All that was left to help at the shop was Brody Bucky and their cousins Thomas,Duncan and Ollie. Their dad's brother Mitchell was the co owner of the shop. Not only did they run the shop but together they also took over taking care of the family ranch after their daddy died three years ago.
Thirty minutes later Brody and Bucky were pulling into town where the gravel road meets the black top road.
"It's not bad little brother I promise. We get days off. And when school starts back up we only work on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings as full shifts. The cousins work the nights we have football cause they don't play. And when basketball starts up we switch off." Brody said
"How am I suppose to go on a date if I have no free time when school starts up. Between school football and work I will barely have time to sleep." Bucky said
"It's not that bad little brother." Brody said
Meanwhile Skylar's day was just beginning she was rubbing her eyes when she heard her phone. Her friends Amanda and Chloe were blowing up her phone about coming over. An hour later the three girls were lounging around her pool.
Skylar didn't have anyone from school on her social media. The only people she had were her friends so she and the girls had posted a bunch of selfies. She set one of them as her new profile picture which was one of her on a pool float making a peace sign over her left eye and a kissy face.
Several hours had passed when Bucky was getting bored. He began to scroll through the endless amounts of summer photos that had been posted. Bucky began to search for Skylar's Facebook. But he had to put in Skylar's last name to find her.
"That's cant be her. She never gave off the selfie vibe." He said when he saw the picture.
He clicked on the profile that said "Skylar Marie Jones." The only thing he could view was her profile pictures cause it was set to private. When he went to the previous picture she had it was one of her with her blonde hair in waves as she sat on a swing with flowers all around her.
"Wow..she is gorgeous in this." He said
He went back he clicked "Add a friend" he added a message that said "Please accept.."
Skylar was getting out of the shower when she heard her phone ping. When she opened up her notifications she let out a chuckle. She hit accept and went about getting dressed.
About an hour later she was walking around the farmers market. Bucky got to the market since Brody was busy and their shift was almost over.

•Zucchini
As he was looking for squash he smelt a familiar smell. When he looked around he saw her over at the apples. He got the squash then walked over to her.
"Well hello darlin." He said
"Oh hey. What are you doing here?" She said with a smile as she just made sure no one else around.
"Had to pick up stuff for mom on my break. Dad informed me this morning that I've been hired to be new mechanic now that I've turned sixteen. I mean I did back in March but he decided to wait till now." He said as he grabbed a couple of apples that Winnie needed.
"I was gonna ask about the shirt." She said
He smiled at her. "How has your first day went?" He said
"Good my friends came over for awhile. They have to leave tomorrow cause their dad lives in TN so they wanted to spend time together." She said
"They are sisters? When ever I seen you with them at school. I just assumed that they were friends too." He said
"They are fraternal twins Amanda and Chloe. That's why one is a red head and brunette." She said
"I know how twins work two of my older brothers are twins." He said as they walked around.
She picked up a bunch of peaches to put in her basket. He grabbed the amount his mom needed. Just as he was finishing up he got a text from Brody.
"Hurry up. We have to close up and I have to show you how."
"Well it was good seeing you Skye. You have a good rest of the day." He said
She smiled at him. "You too." She said
That night after Bucky and Brody cleaned out the horse stalls they were coming in the back door. As he was kicking off his boots he smelt that old scent again. He went running into the kitchen.
"Mom..what are you making?" He said as he went looking around for Skylar.
"I'm making a peach pie for dessert. What's wrong?" She said as she gave him a glass of fresh sweet tea.
"Peaches..she smells like peaches." He whispered
"Who smells like peaches." Brody said
"Uh nobody don't worry about it. What's for dinner mama?" Bucky said
"I made a pot roast and of course peach pie." Winnie said as she checked his head.
"Mom I'm fine." He said as he sat down as everyone else joined him.
