A/N: This chapter is kinda angsty lol so fair warning

Meanwhile, Todoroki didn't have a worry in the world.
This training building was near the outskirts of UA's campus and so the forest was right behind it.
While everyone was concerning themselves with Midoriya, he spotted a pretty butterfly on the window.
So, obviously, when that butterfly fluttered away, he wanted to follow it.
And follow it he did.
There was a exit nearby where he was laying so he simply slipped out the door without notice.
The cool butterfly landed on a flower right outside the building but, of course, as Todoroki approached, it retreated into the woods.
He let out a little annoyed huff through his nose. He just wanted to make friends with it. And he's not planning on giving up any time soon.
So he continued to follow it as swiftly as his little legs could carry him.
Which meant following it right off UA grounds.
And coincidentally bumping into a familiar face.
Or, well, almost familiar.
The tall scrawny man Todoroki ran into grunted some in surprise, moving his hood down to look down and see who it was.
"Oof...sorry." Todoroki mumbled, not even glancing up at the person.
The man stared down at the kid, wheels turning in his head.
"Where ya going, kid?" He decided to ask, keeping his voice relatively low.
Todoroki paused, recognizing the voice, though, it was much lower than he remembered. It still carried that tired, rough, and apathetic tone.
"Budderf'y." He answered, finally looking up at the man's face.
The man's bright blue eyes met Todoroki's hetero-chromatic ones.
There was a moment of silence.
Todoroki blinked a few times, "...Touya?" He asked softly. He honestly wasn't quite sure if he actually recognized this guy but there was just this sort of gut feeling.
Though, considering the frankly terrifying dead, scarred skin seemingly stapled to the guy, he could be completely wrong. Plus, his hair was black. But, Todoroki could've sworn he spotted some red peaking at the roots.
Dabi didn't answer, just kept staring down at the kid.
A million thoughts raced through his head.
So, obviously, Todoroki was hit by some de-aging quirk. But how did he recognize Dabi? This better not be some dumb 'intertwined souls' or 'aura' shit because that's stupid and lame. And why was this tiny ass kid running around on the outskirts of UA's campus? Those pro heroes really suck at their jobs of keeping these students safe. Though, that makes Dabi's job a whole lot easier.
He could just kill this kid right here and now.
Todoroki seemed too young to have gotten his quirk and doesn't seem to be acting like his older self.
He didn't even have his scar yet.
Dabi's heart wrenched at that thought.
Which absolutely disgusted him.
He shouldn't feel pity. He's a fucking villain. And here's the prize son of the undeserving number 1 hero all small and pathetic.
Dabi should just kill him without a second thought.
