"Hey, grandmother" I greet as I slide into the back seat
Bailey following after me and Aurelia following after her.
"Hi girls, how was the sleepover?" She replies excitedly
"It was eventful for sure" Bailey responds as she sneaks a glance between Aurelia and I making me blush
"That's exciting" my grandmother replies back
From there the conversation died out and we all sat in a comfortable silence, Kingsbury and I staring out the side windows while Bailey stared out the front window.
I'm in the middle of admiring all the beautiful scenery when Bailey suddenly talks.
"Excuse me, Ms. Bailey, would you mind telling me how Hanna's parents met?" She asks with an unnaturally nice tone of voice
I turn towards her with a confused facial expression once I notice the mischievous look in her eyes.
"Wow, um-," my grandmother stutters trying to think back to the memory
"Hanna's mother's mother was never really there in her life, one day she dropped Charlotte off at Aspen's house in the middle of the night," she explains
"From there I'd say that they always had a strong bond since they trusted each other" she finishes as she turns onto my street
"Do you know when they first fell in love?" Bailey questions curiously causing me to cough awkwardly
"Why do you want to know so much information about my parents relationship history?" I ask Bailey with a low tone so that my grandmother doesn't hear us
"I was wondering if some things ran in the family" Bailey answers with a shrug causing me to roll my eyes as my idiotic best friend
"Did you forget that I'm adopted, meaning that we have different Deoxyribonucleic Acid" I state
"One, you could have just said DNA, and two, how do you explain the apparent lesbian gene in your family?" She lists
"There is no 'lesbian gene' in my family" I state with an eye roll
"Just wait until Isabella and Haley grow up" she says with a confident facial expression
Yeah, okay.
Whatever she needs to tell herself.
"Hanna, your mother told me to tell you that she left a chore list for you and Aurelia to do while they're gone" my grandmother informs me as she pulls into my driveway
"I'm sorry, what?" I ask with a dumbfounded expression
"I forgot to tell you, your mother called me and said that I have to stay at your house tonight" she explains
"What, Why?!" I exclaim
"They have a mission- I mean, they wanted to spend some time together and catch up" she replies with a smile
I glare at her before quickly exiting the car and making my way towards the front door, Aurelia trailing not too far behind me. I'm in the middle of unlocking the door when I feel a presence behind me.
Once the door is unlocked I push it open only to be immediately attacked by my younger sisters.
