I am in the middle of laughing at a random joke that Faith told me when the door to my house abruptly swings open.

I try to catch my breath as my mom gives me a weird look.

"Faith, did you break my daughter?" My mom asks

Faith chuckles at my mom only to shake her head.

"I told her a joke" she vaguely explains

I finally begin to calm down when my stomach begins to cramp painfully.

My mom nods her head before turning back towards me. She talks to me as she leads the two of us into the house.

"Amanda and your grandmother are coming over for dinner today" My mom informs me as she walks into the kitchen

I furrow my eyebrows at her.

Why is my grandmother coming over?

She never comes over unless she is picking up Haley and Isabella.

"Um, okay," I say with a skeptical tone of voice as she opens a random cabinet

She grabs two jars of spaghetti sauce making me smile.

We haven't had spaghetti in so long.

It is mainly used in our family whenever someone has big news to announce.

Wait-

"Are you and mother adopting another baby?!" I question

I try to keep my facial expression tense in case I end up being wrong but my tone of voice gives away my excitement.

"No, we're not allowed to" she answers with a slight laugh at my eagerness

I pout at the news.

"Can I invite my friends?" I ask

She thinks for a few seconds before nodding.

I smile and thank her before dragging Faith towards the staircase, ignoring Faith's complaints for me to slow down as we begin to climb said stairs.

Once we enter my bedroom I shut the door and throw my backpack onto my bed, taking a seat in my desk chair.

"She's hiding something" I state confidently

"What makes you say that?" Faith asks, taking a seat on my bed

"They only ever make spaghetti whenever they are going to make a big announcement," I answer

I grab my laptop from the corner of my desk and open it.

"They did it when they told me they were adopting me, they did it when they chose to adopt Isabella, same thing for Haley" I say as I begin to rapidly type on the device

Faith awkwardly clears her throat before speaking.

"They made spaghetti the first time I stayed for dinner" Faith states matter of factly

"No, they ordered it and pretended like they made it" I say making her jaw drop

I try not to laugh at her facial expression as I video chat Bailey and Aurelia.
