Chapter 15

Jack's POV

Percy's dead. I couldn't believe it, the best hero in the world, dead. I walked to the beach at CHB and saw Artemis staring into the horizon. I walked next to her, not saying anything. "This was his favorite spot." She said. "He would always come here, watch the sunset." I nodded. "He was a great man. He cared for everybody. He would always put his friends safety in front of his. But you have to move on. You can't dwell on the fact that he's dead."

She looked at me. "How would you feel if someone you loved died before your eyes?" She asked. I felt like there was a lump in my throat. "I would feel like my heart was destroyed. But hearts can be refixed, but lives cannot be replaced. Learn to move on, how would he feel if he knows that you're like this." I asked. "HE'S DEAD!!!" She yelled. "He's dead." She whispered. I took a deep breath. "He wanted time to give you this, in case if he didn't made it." I handed her a velvet box. She opened it and there was a silver ring, a sea green pearl in the center. It had the words 'your Kelp Brain'. I could see her holding back her tears.

"He also told me to tell this to you. His message was, 'I love you, move on for me. I will come back, just wait. I also made a haiku that could rival Apollo's,'" I was interrupted by a chuckle from Artemis. "He said

'For a thousand years,
and for a thousand lifetimes,
I will search for you.'"

By now, tears were streaming down her cheeks and she was sobbing uncontrollably. I rubbed circles on her back. "How about you go to your cabin?" She nodded and flashed there. I exhaled. "I'm gonna check on the four." I told myself. I strolled to the infirmary and found them on hospital beds. Their faces were twisting into one with pain. "Chiron, how bad is it?" I asked him, who was looking at the four. I looked at their vitals and saw something weird.

Leo's temperature would spike up to supernova every few seconds. Nico's vitals would go blank as if he's dead and then back to normal after a while. Frank's respiration and pulse rate would keep going up and down. At one point, his respiration and pulse rate was only possible for a rabbit, if not, his lungs would have bursted but it didn't. Jason's pulse rate would increase suddenly, turning back to normal again and again.

"Peculiar, isn't it?" Chiron asked me. I slowly nodded my head. I responded. "It looks like the explosion gave them a spike of energy. Increasing their power tenfold. Look at Leo, his temperature would go supernova every once in a while. His fire power has increased tremendously. Frank's vitals would change to the average vitals for other animals that are impossible for humans alone. The rest are the same. For me, I felt a stronger boost in myself. But it looks like they got most of it. Probably because I'm partially immortal." I explained as I made an ice dagger in my hand to show him what I mean.

Normally, I can only make Frost and ice from my staff and a bit of frost from my body. Chiron looked at me with amusement. "Wow. Jack, you really have grown." He said. "I'm sure they'll get around. Hopefully they can control it." As soon as he said it. A groan was heard from one of the beds. I turned around and saw Nico blinking the sleep out of his eyes. "What-What happened? Did we win?" I sat on his bed and answered. "Yes, we did. But you guys had your powers spiked up and unconscious for about a day. You were the first one to wake up. Come on. You have to learn how to train your new powers. We don't know what they are so we have to learn. I'll give you some time to recuperate first."

Weeks later, all four of them were conscious and were training in Olympus. It was all four of them against me. "Come on! Jason! Faster! You call that lightning speed? My grandma could walk faster than you! Oh wait my gran's dead..." I have figured out all their new powers. Jason could turn his whole body into living lightning and could also travel at lightning speed. Nico could bend shadows to his will like Peter Pan and could turn parts of his bodies into skeleton bones that are, I figured out, impossible to break. Even Hades's sword could not cut them.

Leo could light his body on fire but now he is just fire, so technically speaking, he's a gigantic figure of gas. There was this one time where I accidentally farted at him and his flames blew tailwind and flew into Zeus's temple. He also can go at supernova which is the temperature of an exploding star. Soo its can destroy almost anything. Frank's shapeshifting abilities grew to an extent that he could shape shift into monsters and even the most complicated monster to describe. He can do it. He can also now shape shift parts of his body into different animal body parts.

We trained and trained until the end of the day. Just when we were about to leave, a lightning bolt shot up in the sky. "Alright guys, let's go have a meeting." I said and flew away. Nico shadow travelled there, Jason flew at lightning speed, Frank turned into a dragon and Leo was riding Festus. We arrived there and bowed to the gods. "Rise." Zeus said. "I have called you all here to tell you that there is a new prophecy." We all exchanged worried looks as Zeus nodded for Apollo to start.

"Risen shall be the one blessed by the Creator,
And lead the war waged by Fear and Traitor,
All immortals shall rise from the Pit they reside,
Time's own choice shall turn the tide,
The Battle Of Ages shall begin,
It shall be won by the Guardian's kin"
(How's that one, eh? My first one!)

Then, Apollo slumped on his throne. "Athena, what can you get from the prophecy." Zeus asked. "Alright, so from the first line, someone blessed by the Creator, which is you know who, shall rise, rise from where?" Athena questioned herself. I interrupted. "It's Percy. He was blessed by him, and he's dead. He'll rise from the dead." I said. She nodded. "The second line, Fear and Traitor. Who are they? Could it be Phobos? What about traitor? I don't know..." she said.

By now I was getting irritated. "Fear is Pitch. He came to North's workshop saying he was going to wage a war. Traitor, someone is going to betray us. The third line, immortals shall rise from the Pit. That means that Titans, Giants and Primordials will rise from Tartarus. The fourth line, Time. That's Kronos. He's gonna make the final choice of our victory, or our death. 'The Battle Of Ages shall begin.' That's exactly that is going to happen. It shall be won by the Guardian's kin. One of the Guardian's kid is going to win the battle. Easy. Is it that hard, Athena?"

The others looked at me like I was crazy. I just walked out of the throne room, mentally preparing myself for what comes next...

Ten years. Ten years since North's workshop blew up. It's in another part of the North Pole. Ten years since Artemis was pregnant. Apollo helped, Hestia helped take care of the baby. We named her Zoe, after Zoe Nightshade, Artemis's ex-lieutenant. Ten years since the new prophecy, waiting for an attack or the rise of Percy to happen but nothing. Just then, I looked at the sky and found the Northern Lights. North's calling us. I immediately flew to North's workshop.

"What's happening?" I asked once all the Guardians arrived. We turned to North. "A while ago, I saw Manny, he told me to get you guys here but nothing else." Once he said that, the moon shone on the circle. He was choosing another Guardian. When the crystal in the middle shone and showed a reflection of a man. When I looked closer at the details, I couldn't believe it. "Risen shall be the one blessed by the Creator." I whispered to myself. In front of me, stood the one and only, Percy Jackson.
