So we don't really want to keep the fish out of here right now. Said Han. He had a fishing cap on and a reel. He looked over at Tom who nodded. Just simple catch and release unless it's a nice one, right now I have my freezer full and no where to put much fish.
Ok", he followed Han near the side of the water. He set his chair down and grabbed a fishing rod from Han. The trees rustled around them. The bank was wide open and midnight bridge was on the right. It was a neat little spot Tom thought.
He imagined Han came here a bit with buddies. Han said he had quit drinking recently but he could picture him here with beer and smokes fishing.
Han cast his line in the water and watched it fly out. He reeled a little and put it on his fishing pole holder.
"So how did it go with Jerri"? Tom cast his line. He sat down. Han was lazily moving adjusting his pole.
"I think it went good, she asked me to go out on a job with her tomorrow".
"Really, That's good". He spoke. You can start making some cash with that spare car of mine".
"Yeah" she said "Oshkosh, look maybe I'm not cut out for this line of work Han she said I might have to shoot someone".
"You'll be fine if I were you I would go do the first job and see what you think". Tom saw a tug against the pole, he grabbed it up and started moving his reel slightly.
The idea was to try and reel in the fish but the rod is a lever you don't just point the rod at the fish. He reeled stopped and pulled.
There ya go said Han as he pulled the fish up out of the water. The Muskie was moving slightly it was still a bit small.
Han stood next to Tom and said let's take a picture", he got his camera and smiled. Tom smiled and he snapped the picture.
Tom cut the line and tossed the fish back in the water.
"There our first fish out here together", said Han. Tom nodded and retied the hook on.
I missed this being in the city said Tom. He threw his line back in the water.
"Me too kiddo". He looked out at the water.
So is that where it happened asked Tom. He pointed up at the bridge.
Yeah. Said Han. "Nick was a good guy. He got in with some bad guys though, Leo was attempting to get him out of all of that shit when he died".
"What kind of stuff was he into"? Asked Tom.
A lot of drug deals and a load of dead end cash jobs, it's foolish to stray from the Kings too far and he was straying hard.
The Kings"? Asked Tom. Who are they"?
"It's a saying forget it point is you have certain people to deal with and when you deal too much with other people you get yourself hurt or worse". Said Han. He shook his head. "I'll tell ya what though if I find the guy who did this I'll Gut him like a fish".
