A Warm Heart For Hoenn (Part 2)

Lillie, Nebby Evolved?!

Raichu was tough, not lying there. But somehow, Houndoom over did it and bit him in the leg with Fire Fang, finishing off the battle with one wild landslide. I can only imagine.
Hau and I were neck to neck, Psychic moves versus Dark moves, every few minutes getting super effective hits against each other. Have to admit, Hau was not the smartest in this battle. If you go back to the last sentence: Psychic moves, then you'll realize something. Psychic moves on a dark type.
Yeah it was epic fail. Maybe he just wanted to win so bad or maybe he was so hasty in making decisions that he didn't know what he was doing.
"Okay Raichu use Electro Web!"
"Dark Pulse here we go!"
Houndoom tore the web apart and blasted Raichu backwards. Effective hit number 1. Now it was Hau's turn again.
"Now use Agility!"
Raichu charged and started zipping around the arena, boosting his psychic and electric moves. It was yet again my turn. Either it will be a loooooong battle or a short, short, short one.
"Use Foul Play now!" I yelled.
"Dodge it and use Electro Ball!" Hau countered.
Gotta hand it to Hau, that was very smart. Agility boosts speed and that makes Electro Ball a little better and more effective. I only know that because Metagross is part Psychic. Houndoom barked and leapt up at Raichu. That didn't do anything, did it? Raichu just moved aside quickly and Houndoom did a face plant in the dirt as he landed.
Sparking, Raichu blew at Houndoom a ball of electricity, bigger than it was supposed to be. He struggled to his feet and growled.
"Thunder Fang!"
Barking again, Houndoom put Electro Ball between his powerful, electric jaws and burst it, coming for Raichu next. And so:
"Uh...I, I mean...USE PSYCHIC!" Hau stammered.
Raichu spread his arms but it had no effect on Houndoom. He bit on the opponent's arm and flew backwards, landing on his feet.
Raichu fell down and fainted, making me gain another win. Yay.
"Raichu NO!" Hau yelped.
"Raichu is unable to battle! Houndoom wins!" Hala announced.
I let out a 'phew' and Houndoom held out a paw like, yeah, I'm the best. I scratched his back and his ear, making him pant and stick out his tongue.
I can almost feel him saying oh yeah, that's good! I'm a good boy, right? I'm a good boy! I'm the strongest boy! Yaaaay!
Trust me, I feel him. Hau picked up Raichu and brought him close.
"Hey buddy, you okay? I'm sorry that I got hasty...I forgot Psychic has no effect on Dark," Hau said sadly, "On the bright side, we were closer than ever! Right?"
"Rai-chu," Raichu agreed, floating up unsteadily.
"You guys did better than before," I smiled, holding out a hand, "I didn't expect all that from this battle."
"Well I guess the world is full of surprises," Hau laughed, shaking my hand, "But I'm sure that I'll win next time!"
"I won't hold back," I confirmed.
After the match, Steven was going against Ilima which I was very uncomfortable with. I know a lot of Trial Captains but in my opinion, Ilima and Sophocles make the top of my list.
Eevee was on his shoulder as we walked out of the stadium for a break.
It was still a little early for Steven's battle and in my opinion, he should have that pre match I dragged him away from.
"So Ilima...how about we battle now? Like a pre-re match?" Steven shrugged.
That was not a real word. My little Steven is learning at last.
"Yeah but we need somewhere else other than here..." Ilima thought.
"Maybe we can go to the Lake of the Sunne! It is pretty near," Hau suggested.
"Yeah..." Steven said quietly, "Let's go there."
Something was wrong with him but I have no idea what it was. Maybe if I ask him he'll give me an answer. Maybe it had something to relate with the thing Tapu Koko said. The thing about opening at the close whatever that meant.
I shook it off and we walked with Ilima and Hau, listening to Iris tell us about all the Dragon Masters she came by in our adventure together.
There was Lance, Elite Four in Kanto. Then there was Clair, Gym Leader in Johto. Drake of the Hoenn Elite Four who did not go easy on me in battle. Her favorite out of all these people was Raihan the Gym Leader in Hammerlocke back in Galar. She admires his Flygon and especially his Duraludon since they were strong and can take a lot of hits without fainting. I struggled in that Gym but I did squeeze by in the end.
Lucky too because Emolga was the last one standing after this mess.
"And we're here!" Ilima announced.
The Lake of the Sunne was east where the sun rises. The Lake of the Moone was out in the west so it was going to take longer to get there.
Eevee squeaked and bounced up, running towards the lake and sitting down infront of the water, eager to fight.
Steven unzipped his pack and Rowlet poked its head out, flapping onto his shoulder. It gave a hoot of surprise and looked around like whooooooa! Am I dead?!
It was awesome. Ilima took out his Smeargle and his Kangaskhan and Steven took out his Meltan. Meltan played a big part because it was the only Pokémon that small which actually knows Flash Cannon.
So here they are the Holy Three: Meltan, Togedemaru and Rowlet.
"Alright Steven, are you ready?" He asked.
"Ready as ever!" Steven nodded.
I sat down next to Zeraora and Emolga while Hau sat next to me with his Decidueye. Iris ran off to the left to catch a Bagon and Cilan was examining a bush. I don't know if I said that before, but Cilan is a big brain. He knows all about nature and without him, me and Iris wouldn't have survived the Unovian Forests all on our own. Believe me, I have some vibes that I said that before, a Tree could amaze him.
"Okay Eevee, let's go!" Ilima said.
"Togedemaru! Get out there!" Steven said.
The two Pokémon took their stances and Ilima got first move.
"Now Eevee use Quick Attack please!" Ilima called.
"Now use Wild Charge!" Steven countered.
The two Pokémon slammed into each other. Whoa, already Ilima is winning. As usual. Hau fell down on the grass and put a hand over his eyes.
"Man I wish I was as strong as you, or Ilima or Iris...dude..." he sighed.
"I know you'll do your very best Hau, you'll get there," I said.
"Thanks," he smiled and sat up, "Huh? What's wrong Decidueye?"
Decidueye took a side glance at the nearby shrubs. Whenever he has that look on his face, it means his spidey senses are activating. Or Decidueye-y Senses. Whatever.
"Now use Swift please!" Ilima ordered.
"Dodge it and use Zing Zap!" Steven shot.
"Decid," Decidueye opened one of his eyes and blasted a bunch of Spirit Shackles at the bushes.
"HUH?! WHO'S THERE?!" Hau yelled at the shrubs.
I slowly stood up and Zeraora growled. Ilima stopped and Steven turned around. Whenever there is an edge in his voice, it scares me more than it scares the people talking to him.
"Who's there?" He repeated Hau's sentence with a strong, edgy tone.
Zeraora put a paw in the bushes and pushed them aside. Ah shoot...
"LILLIE?!" All of us shouted.
"Hi," she half waved.
Decidueye's arrows didn't hurt her but they did pin her clothes to a tree. And those things are strong. Steven yanked the one pinning her sleeve off the tree and she helped me pull the others out.
"False alarm Decidueye, only a friend," Hau called back.
"Cidue," Decidueye shrugged like meh, whatever.
"Hey Lillie...sorry about him, Decidueye is precautious," I said.
"That's fine, I'm the one who should have known not to sneak up on you," she giggled.
"Pew!"
Nebby. He was pushing against Lillie's pink backpack and she put a hand on the zipper, straining it.
"Hi Lillie!" Steven waved.
Her face flushed with red and she waved back nervously like hi, I'm definitely not embarrassed!
I hid a giggle, knowing Lillie developed some feelings for Steven and patted her on the shoulder.
"Hi Steven..." she said quietly, "How are your Pokémon?"
"They're great! Thanks for asking," Steven said.
"H-How delightful," she murmured, blushing more.
"Hey Lillie how's Nebby?" Hau asked.
"Oh yes now I remember why I came here! Look! Nebby actually EVOLVED!"
She unzipped her pack and a newly evolved Nebby the Cosmeom flew out of it, spinning around excitedly. Immediately, he recognized Steven and rubbed his head against Steven's chest with affection.
"Aw hey there Nebby, I missed you too," Steven smiled, patting him on the head.
"Wow! When did it happen?" Iris asked.
"Gladion and me were walking in the forest and then an Ultra Wormhole opened up. A Nihilego came out and tried to attack us so Zoroark came out and tried to protect us. When it went for my backpack to try and snatch Nebby up," Lillie explained, "I tried to defend him and fought back, trying to get the backpack again. Nebby released his powers again and threw a tantrum, making Nihilego go away and then he just...he evolved."
"Wonder what he's capable of now..." Steven wondered.
