Benny's P.O.V.
I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs. It was unusual. The only time my mom would ever cook bacons and eggs in the morning would be on my birthday or special occasions.
I laid in bed thinking about last night. Do I really love Jackie? I kept rethinking it over and over in my head, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I decided to push my thoughts away at the moment because the smell of bacon and eggs was becoming overwhelming for my empty stomach.
I got up and found some shorts and put them on and walked out into the kitchen to find my mom at the stove. I walked up behind her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Morning."
"Good morning, you scared me." She laughed as I smiled.
"So is there something special going on today, you never make bacon and eggs." I questioned her grabbing a cup of orange juice.
"No, I just thought you had a rough night." She looked over at me with guilt in her eyes. I sighed. "Mama, it's ok, don't blame your self."
"No, Benny I'm the adult and I shouldn't put stress on you, ok?" She put cooked bacon on a plate.
"Well you should because you actually talked some sense into me." I said looking straight at her. "What do you mean?" She said smirking devilish.
"Um... I don't know, like second thoughts about someone." I said. My cheeks flushed. My mom laughed and shook her head. "Well I respect your decision as long as your happy." She said grabbing a piece of toast.
I smiled and went back to eating.
"Hey what time are you going to the sandlot, it's ten minutes to eight." My mom asked.
My eyes widen in shock. I glanced over at the clock. 7:52. Shit! I'm gonna be late.
"Oh crap!" I said jumping out of my seat. I ran back to my room hearing my mom laugh. I grabed a white T-shirt and jeans from yesterday that were still covered in dirt and threw them on. I tucked in my shirt and rolled up my jeans when I heard a knock at the front door. I ran to open it to see all of the guys waiting for me but someone was missing, Jackie.
I felt a knot in my stomach devleop. Here we go again, do i really love Jackie? Well of course you do, You freak out when she's not with you. Wait, what about Brittany? Shit right. I would break her heart. An amazing girl doesn't deserve shit like that. What about Jackie, she's an amazing girl too, shouldn't she deserve something great also? I was snapped out of my thoughts by Scotty poking me.
"Benny, you okay man?"
"What?" I asked shaking my head competely unaware that were still here. They all looked at me with anxious eyes. "Sorry, I'm fine, I just blanked out, it happens a lot." I lied trying to reasure them. They believed my lie and came in.
"Hey Mama, can the boys wait here while I get my shoes?"
"Sure, c'mon in guys got plenty leftover bacon." All of the guys ran to the kicthen like little kids running for candy. I went back into my room to look for my PF Flyers. I couldn't find them but I saw my bat and glove by my door.
"What the hell?" I said in frustration. Where are they? I made my way towards my door when I tripped on something. "Ehh." I looked down and realized it was my PF Flyers. Nice work Benny. I put them on and went back into the kitchen. All of the guys had bacon stuff in their mouths, especially Ham. I laughed at them.
"Ok you guys ready to go?" I asked them. They all nodded their heads. I kissed my mom goodbye and made my way out the door with the guys.
"Hey did Jackie come out yet?" I asked.
