Jackie's P.O.V.
I laid in bed speechless. What did Benny just say?
He what's?
My heart was racing out of my chest. I've never done anything thing like this before.
What should I say back? How should I respond?
I let out a shaky breath, tears running down my cheeks. "I love you too, Benny Rodriguez." I said smiling never knowing that this day would ever come.
With that Benny's perfect teeth appeared into a smile. A big smile, the kind that make the edges of yours eyes crinkle up and dimples appear.
He laughed his beautiful laugh and leaned over my bed pulling me into his arms ever so gently, but also tight. Then placed his pink, plump lips on my cheek.

It had been a week since I woke up in the hospital. According to my doctor and the X-ray, one of my ribs was cracked so I was stuck with a stupid brace for two weeks.
I was beyond pissed but there was only one thing that could make me smile.
Benny would come see me everyday and stay with me for hours. Sometimes the guys would tag along with him and every time they would come, they would always have a "get-well" gift, yes it was annoying sometimes but it was also amusing. Every time they would come in I would laugh at them quietly, watching them add to my collection of flowers, stuffed animals, and balloons.
One day Benny had decided he would stay overnight. The whole night we spent watching baseball games on the little television, wishing that it was both of us on the screen, and telling each other about ourselves. Benny had sat in a chair beside my bed, leaning his feet up next to mine and holding my hand in his. The room was pitch black expect for the light of the TV. I watched him in amazement, talking about his life before I came into it. The light of the TV reflecting off of his perfect smile and flushed cheeks and creating a sparkle in his eyes was a beautiful sight.
"And that's how I got this little bastard." Benny laughed showing me a scar on his hand from a knife that he cut himself on from making a sandwich.
I giggled. "Way to go."
After our laughter died down, the only sound in the room was the baseball announcer on TV. I tired to rest my head on Benny's shoulder but he was too far down. Benny saw my attempt and stopped me. "Hold on." He said standing up. He pulled the chair that he was sitting in and put it back where he had took it from.
He came back to my bedside. He put his hands on my sides, which caused my arms to wrap around his neck as he picked me up, helping me move over.
Having a cracked rib, along with wearing a brace does make it harder to move around.
Once there was enough room for him, he set me down, he crawled into the free space. He laid down on his back putting his arm on the edge behind his head. "Come here." He said gesturing me to lay down. I obeyed him and laid my head on his chest and draped my arm over his stomach, while he curled his other arm around my back holding me to him.
"Comfortable?" He asked.
"Yes." I whispered honestly. I sighed happily, listening to his heartbeat. It was comforting sensation, the movement of his chest moving up and down, breathing in and out.
"Good." He replied kissing my hairline.
Ever since Benny and I confessed our feelings to one another, I've been confused on what our "relationship" was.
Are we friends or boyfriend and girlfriend?
I honestly didn't know, I had never been in a relationship before, let alone being "romantically involved" with anyone.
His actions towards me are what really threw me off. Yesterday he had came over with some food from the downtown diner and watch some baseball with me. At one point a player on TV fell over and Benny had laughed and playful punched me in the shoulder. That's a "friend's sign." Also he sometimes calls me "Bro" or "Dude."
But he also holds my hand and kisses my cheek and head. "Boyfriend and girlfriend sign." Plus like right now. We're cuddling.
I had kept my mouth shut about it though because if we weren't boyfriend and girlfriend, I was afraid Benny would be creped out and leave me.
I sighed trying my best to not think about it when I'm in the arms of the boy I love and just enjoy the moment.
———————-
It had been an hour, since Benny had gotten in bed with me. We hadn't said a word to each other, just enjoying the company of each other. We held each other with such great care, as if we were going to disappear. I never knew I could care and love for someone so much. Thinking about how Benny had saved me was beyond me. I mean he actually cared for my life and safety. It only made my love and affection for him to grow and I cared about him the same exact way.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of a beautiful voice.
"Jackie?" Benny's voice was husky layered with exhaustion.
"Hmm?"
"Can I sleep with you in the bed tonight? I can barely keep my eyes open."
"Of course you can. You don't have to ask, I'm tired too." I said, my eyelids becoming heavier all of the sudden.
Benny laughed. "Ok thanks, goodnight."
"Goodnight." I said then fell asleep in his arms.
****************************
Awww, they're cuddling and sleeping with each other...
ok that was weird... don't ask.
I'm quite tired myself actually lol. I'm in bed right now writing this and it's ten minutes to elven. My life. Plus I have school tomorrow and have to be up by five a 'clock in the morning so that's just a cherry on top I guess.
Anyway guys hope you enjoyed that chapter. Do you think Benny and Jackie are still friends or is it something more? ;)
