High School

I walked towards the classroom, people waving every 1 minute or so, when I heard a voice I was expecting 10 minutes ago at the school gate.

Katy: Hi!!

Hannah: you're late

Oh c'mon.. Just 10 minutes!

You know i hate people that are not at all PUNCTUAL!

Ya i know (she said while rolling her eyes).. But I'm sure you don't hate me Hannah.

Umm... Yeah whatever Katy... Now c'mon an A+ is waiting for me!

Yeah I know.... "Class topper".

We entered the classroom and sat on our desk. After two or three minutes of gossip , professor entered the class.

Professor: (coughs)

The class went silent

Professor: The results this year are quite unexpected .

Everyone looked at each other not knowing how to react

Professor: The class topper this year is Jarisson

I was shocked and looked at Jarrison who looked shocked as well. I was disappointed. I couldn't stand my title being given to my brother! I stood up and left the class in disbelief. I heard Katy trying to stop me. But I was too disappointed . I entered the washroom and looked at the mirror.

Hannah: How!?

I heard the washroom door open and close and knew who it was.

Katy: Hannah??
Hannah: what do you want!? Go away!
It's fine Hannah it's just one year
No it's not fine Katy. Who is the second topper?
It is Lauren...and third is Grace (she said in a sad lowered voice)

I didn't know how to react. I wasn't even in top three!

Tears started rolling down my cheeks.I gathered up the courage to ask her

Hannah: what marks did I get huh?
Katy: We can talk peacefully about this after we go home. Just come out Hann...
just tell me already!
Ok stop yelling! You got a 65.
You're joking Right?? Tell me you're messing with me!
Im not not joking Hannah.. Why would I?
Katy go home
But what about you? Aren't you coming?
Stop asking questions and go !
