Fireworks

Were were currently having breakfast that Mary had made. It was the last day already...I was a bit upset as it was the last day but also excited for today. Mary and me both had taken a day off, from our schools and jobs. Mary told me she was gonna take me to the beach today.I loved beaches but was confused as to why Mary wanted to take me somewhere I went so many times before. After some 15 mins we finished our breakfast and got ready It was 9 in the morning. We stepped out the front door of the apartment. I inhaled the fresh air filled with the sweet scent of flowers in the apartment's backyard. As we sat in the car Mary turned on the radio... It had been days since I went for a drive listening to music. It was so soothing.I had forgotten this feeling. I opened the window and peeked out, the air swaying my hair. After some time my phone vibrated indicating I got a message. I picked up the phone and instantly smiled at the name which popped up.

Katy❣️: Hannah! How are you..I MISS YOU .When are we gonna meet?
Hannah: I chuckled at her sudden messages... and replied
I am good .. How are you girl?! And yes I'll be home tonight, we can meet up tomorrow! I miss you too ✨
Katy❣️: Yes!! I have to go now ! See you soon bye!!
Hannah: Ok byee!!

Mary: We're here!

I got out of the car and looked at the beautiful view in front of my eyes .I had never visited this beach before. There were not many people. It was peaceful. Just what was needed right now. The sound of water lapping against the shore was like music to my ears. We spread a mat we bought with us and some snacks. It was already 10:30 . It was odd to be at a beach at this time.. But still it was so relaxing. We were there chatting for and also went in the sea for sometime, getting wet till our knees until my stomach made me realise that I needed to eat. Both of us went to the nearest restaurant and ordered our food. It was delicious. It was 3 in the afternoon, and we had nothing to do until 7. Mary told me that there was a surprise at 7 and I would love it. I had loved the time I had spent with her even though she was older than me, she understood me. So she took me to an art exhibition in our spare time. We bought tickets and entered. The were lots of people in contrast to the beach. The museum had many portraits and painting by different artists. They were colourful and some of them depicted human emotions. They were beautiful. It was 5:30 and we drove back to the beach. Now there were more people than before. Today was relaxing, not very tiring. Time passed and it was already 6:45.

Mary:15 mins more Hannah!
Hannah: For what! Tell me now...I am asking you for 10th time since we got here!
Mary: wait! Just 10 more mins! Quit being impatient!

Suddenly I heard a loud noise which made me flinch. I looked up at the sky to see the source of the noise. My eyes widened as there was a blast of light and colours!
Fireworks!!! I screamed. I had seen fireworks only on festivals. Mary told me that there were firework show every 2 weeks at this beach. I had never been to this part of the city .I felt tears forming in my eyes.. Not of regret but happiness. I was glad I was alive.

Last three days were beautiful. They made me realise that there were so many things I had not done and experienced yet.. They made me realise that I had a chance to see them, I had my whole life ahead of me. Tough we didn't do anything extra, still they were special. I got a new friend, who had a very postive approach towards her life.

The fireworks continued.  Colours like Blue, red, green all filled they sky and I could feel the joy.

After the show ended I looked towards Mary, tears rolling down my cheek. She just smiled a knowing smile. Mary took me to my house and I tightly hugged mom and dad as soon as I saw them and then turned towards Jae.

Hannah: Congratulations class topper!!
