Kieran

She told me not to interfere with her business, I think after all we've been through together she'd have realized by now that I consider any business of hers to be mine as well.
I would always do what I think is best for her.
This whole situation with the boutique was obviously making her upset even though she says otherwise.

I've come to realize that I do not like the idea of her being upset.
A bit ironic isn't it...
But it's the truth, and this is why I was currently headed to fifth avenue where Xeleste's, or whatever the fuck it's called was situated.

As the car rolled to a stop just before the boutique, I saw a woman who looked too familiar walk out of the building and gets into the car parked in front of us.

"Is that my mother?"I asked Gordon.
"It appears so sir" he replied after a few seconds of studying her.

It was her car, and it was her.
What could she be doing here?

A ridiculous question if you think about it.
Because why else would a woman be at a store that sells clothes?

I stepped out of the car and strolled towards the glass doors of the building.
Pushing it open, I walked in.
Just as I closed the door behind me, a tall brunette standing behind a rack of clothes spotted me and immediately walked toward me with a bright smile.

"Can I help you sir?" she asked slightly breathless as she ran her eyes over me with a look that appeared to be appreciative...
Of course...

"You can" I replied, to which she nodded eagerly.
"I would like to see the owner, I believe her name is Celestine?"

"Oh yeah," she smiled "she's over there. Let me go get her"

She walked off and a few seconds later came back with a small blonde lady who looked to be about the same age as my mother.

"Hello," she greeted with a polite smile as she gestured for the dark-haired girl to leave.

"What can I do for you sir?" the lady added.
She had a french accent, it was slight but it was noticeable.
"My name is Kieran Preston," I said, making her eyes widen a little with recognition before composing herself.

"I'm sure that by now you've guessed my reason for being here?"
"Look, Mr. Preston," she said with a sigh,
"If this is about your wife, I'm sorry there's nothing I can do, I already made my decision"

"Oh? And why is that?"
I was really curious

"I can't say, I-I'm sorry," She said hesitantly

At that moment something occurred to me.

"My mother was here, I saw her. Why was she here?" I asked
I could tell my question caught her off guard, though she tried to hide her reaction.

"W-Well...Y-Yes,' she said stuttering again "The madame is a regular patron of ours"

I didn't like this pointless back and forth, I was bored already.

"Listen, I know my mother put you up to this," I told her with a direct look.
"And right now, You're gonna call my wife and you're gonna tell her you're still on board with the arrangement" I added, not giving her the slightest chance to disprove my statement.

"But your mother..." she started, looking a bit scared
"Forget my mother" I interjected with a cold smile "just do as you're told, and I'll handle my mother"

Asa
It was 7 pm I was now in the car with Kieran and we were on our way to the summer charity gala at the New York city center.
I had on a stunning red dress I designed myself.
I had been waiting for a good occasion to wear it, and what better time was there than my first foray into New York society as Kieran Preston's wife?
I didn't bother using the exorbitant amount of money Kieran sent me this morning.
I do not need to buy new clothes when I make clothes.
Yes, I do buy clothes from other brands, I just do not need to right now.

And I look damn good in this dress if I do say so myself.
I am just a tad bit annoyed that Kieran barely had any reaction when I came out in the dress.

"You look nice" was the only fucking thing he could say,
Asshole

I expected so much more from him.
It wasn't like I wanted him to jump on me like a wild beast or anything.
But I expected something, and he gave me nothing.
Sometimes he acts like he couldn't get enough of me like I was the best thing to ever happen to him. But other times like now...he acts like I was no one important to him.
I was getting sick of this hot and cold game of his.

He was awfully quiet beside me, focused on his phone.
He was at it again with the head trip, I couldn't keep up with him to save my life.
And Then I remembered something...

"Oh, I forgot to tell you," I said breaking the silence

"Yes?" He asked, finally giving me his attention.

"Celestine called, we are back on track. She apologized for backing out in the first place" I said with a smile.
I wondered why she backed out at first. And why she suddenly changed her mind again.
I wanted to ask her but decided not to, for a lot of reasons.

"That's good, I'm glad it all worked out," He said with a slight smile before turning back to his phone.
What's wrong now?...
You can never know with him...
