Azlaan's POV

After having snacks from the cafeteria, me and Hammad headed towards the library to discuss some topics that is when I head someone calling my name in a high-pitched voice.

"Azlaan! Azlaan! Oh, thank God you're here. I have been looking everywhere for you."  I turned around to see my classmate Zarrish Aalam racing towards me.

"Look, here comes trouble" I heard Hammad mutter under his breath. I eyed him to keep quiet in front of Zarrish.

Zarrish and Hammad don't exactly get along. They are always arguing about something and I get it, Zarrish can be a bit annoying and a handful sometimes and Hammad let's her get under his skin. She keeps asking for my help now and then in studies but Hammad thinks that she just pretends to get my attention (one of the reasons why he gets annoyed seeing her). I don't dwell on these things and tend to ignore them.

"Hey Zarrish! What happened?" I asked her

"Dude I am stuck at this financial management topic since last night, I just can't seem to get it right" she whined while showing me her book.

"Sure, let me see" I said while taking the book from her hand.

"Oh! this one is from Capital Budgeting, Me and Hammad are headed towards the library, you should come along, I'll explain it you." I told her.

"Oh Azlaan! You are a life saver. Thankyou so much." She squealed in delight and went along with us to the library.

I explained the topic to Zarrish and handed her my notes for further understanding. Library was less crowded than usual. Hammad was sitting beside me while Zarrish sat opposite to us.

"I can't thank you enough Azlaan, I just couldn't understand it. You explain everything so well. I don't know how would I ever repay you." She thanked me while closing her notebook.

"It is okay, no big deal." I smiled in courtesy.

"Honestly Zarrish, there is a thing called the Internet, you should try it sometimes. You wouldn't need repaying anyone then." Hammad retored while taunting her and I just gave him a look of disbelief.

"Hammad..." I muttered under my breath in a warning tone. I didn't want them starting an argument in the library.

"Who even asked you Hammad, so just keep your mouth shut" Zarrish snapped back. "Azlaan I didn't know it was troublesome for you. I won't bother you anymore". Zarrish started gathering her things ready to go. She was clearly mad and it was Hammad's fault this time, he shouldn't have taunted her.

"No it's alright Zarr--" Hammad cut me off before I could speak.

"Wait a minute, who did you tell to shut up, I am not your chauffer here, you can't boss me around. You're the one who is wasting our time and always buzzing around Azlaan like a bee." Hammad retorted.

"Guys, calm down, we are in the library, let's just settle this" I tried to intervene before the situation escalated but they ignored me.

"Yeah, I told you to shut up! Do you have a hearing problem? You're the one who is always glued to Azlaan." She hissed in anger.

"Well excuse you but, I am his best friend unlike you." Hammad said while rolling his eyes

"Well I am his friend too and I clearly know what your intensions are!" She snarled at him.

I stared at them both dumbfounded. Although, there weren't many people in the library but theie argument had caught attention of everyone. I could feel everyone staring at us. Thankfully the librarian was nowhere in sight otherwise she would have kicked us out of the library by now.

"Oh really? please enlighten me Ms. Zarrish what my intentions are?" Hammad retorted back.

"You--" Zarrish tried to speak before i cut them both off.

"Okayyy guys, Stop! Everyone is staring at us. Zarrish you can have my notes, I'll take them back tomorrow and I apologize on behalf of Hammad. We are all adults here so let's settle this." I said while standing up.

"Hammad let's go home. It is getting late anyways." I signaled Hammad

"Yes Azlaan you are right, I am sorry I lashed out. Thank you for your help. I'll hand over these to you tomorrow." She replied clearly embarrassed at her outburst and walked out of the library.

Hammad and I went out as well towards the parking lot. None of us said anything until Hammad broke the silence.

"I just hate Zarrish so much. Why did you have to defend her? She buzzes around you like a bee Azlaan. She clearly likes you." Hammad said clearly annoyed.

"What? No, Hammad she just wanted my help." I told him while clearly surprised.

"Come on man, It is clearly all an act of hers I am telling you." He said while rolling his eyes.

"You're thinking about this too much. Besides I am not interested in her in any way. She is just our classmate so I am helping her." I told him genuinely.

"Also by any chance, are you jealous?" I teased him.

"Ha Ha so funny, Ignore it all you want but my intuitions are never wrong." He retorted back rolling his eyes at me.

"Okay sure whatever you say." I said dismissively. Maybe Hammad was on to something but I did not give it much thought and shrugged.

"I am serious dude!." He exclaimed.

"Ha ha nice try, you and serious are two opposite things." I smirked at him.

"Don't blame me that I didn't warn you." He said while hopping on his bike.

I just shook my head at him while I watch him drove off on his bike. I didn't give much thought to what Hammad said. He was just thinking about it too much.

When I reached home, mama was calling Noor and Saadi for lunch. "Noor! Saadi! come eat your lunch, you have been watching TV for hours". Mama scolded both of them.

"Ok, we're coming" They replied in union.

"Assalam o Alaikum!" I greeted them when I entered.

"Waalaikum Assalam Azlaan! Good you're here too, go and freshen up and then come have lunch." She replied.

"Okay, I'll be down in 20 minutes. I just have to take a quick shower." I told her and went up to my room.

Shanzay's POV

The next day I went to the admin office with Zainab to take another print out of the documents since all of them were destroyed yesterday. Admin office was crowded more than usual. We stood in the queue and waited for turn. After waiting for half an hour in line, I finally got the documents I needed. Now I just needed to fill and submit it. My train of thoughts were interrupted as I felt a push from with in the crowd. Oh no!Not Again!
