Life is full of surprises and surprises can be either good or bad, Each day brings us joy, sorrow, anger or regret but most importantly, we get memories, each of different kind and with them we grow a little, cry a little, laugh a little, regret a little, but those memories makes you, you. The way we see ourselves today is a representation of what we have endured in the past. These memories shapes us, gives us insights and experience. Memories are our past and past can be daunting and when someone from your past shows up whom you might have buried deep or left behind, it can change the course of your present...

Shanzay's POV

"...Ap?"

(You?)

"Ku beta hum nhi a skte?"

(Why? can't we come?)

"Nhi nhi Taya Abba mera yeh mtlb nhi tha...ayein." I said escorting them inside the house.

(No Uncle, I didn't mean that, come...)

"Lagta hai Salam karne ka riwaj khatam ho gaia hai." Tayi Ammi spoke.

(I think the tradition to greet someone has been long gone.)

"Assalam O Alaikum..." I said while nodding my head still in shock to see them.

"Waalaikum Assalam" Both Taya Abba and Tayi Ammi spoke in union.

"Mein Ammi ko bula kr ati hun..." I excused myself and went to call Ammi.

(I'll go call Mom.)

I still couldn't put my finger on the fact, why they were here. Their arrival was ringing bells of danger. The vibe of it all was not good. I hope everything goes well. Never in my entire life I've seen them come with a good news. They have done nothing but created problems for us.

5 years ago (7 days after Ibaad's (Shanzay's father) death)

Nobody's POV

"Fatima yeh ghar khaali karna ho ga..." Jawad (Shanzay's Taya) said.

(Fatima you guys would have to leave this house...)

"Lekin Jawad bhai yeh ghar to Ibaad k nam tha...phir kese who humein jane k liye keh sakte hain" Fatima replied worriedly.

(But Brother Jawad this property was Ibaad's then how can they ask us to leave this house?)

"Un ka kehna hai k Ibaad ne koi loan liya tha or usi ko pura karne k liye yeh ghar bechna pare ga..." he added.

(They are saying that Ibaad took a loan and to pay the debt we would have to sell the house.)

"Lekin is tarhan to hum drabadar ho jaein ge..." Fatima said.

(But this way we would be homless.)

"Kesi batein karti ho Fatima hamara ghar bhi to hai...tum log wahan rehna hamare sath who hum sab ka ghar hai." Nudrat (Jawad's wife) said.

(What are you saying Fatima? You can come live with us at our home, that is your home too.)

"Par..."

(But...)

"bas to phir tum aj hi apna saman pack kar lo...kal phir tum hamare sath hamare ghar chalna..." Jawad said

(Well it's settled then, you guys should start packing then tomorrow you can move into our house...)

"G behtar..." Fatima replied.

(alright...)
