A/N: Guysssss im actually alive wowww. Okay im writing updating this instead of doing online school so love that for me.
I got home and my parents and brother weren't home yet. I realized that I was only gone for 45 minutes because I left after almost getting caught. I watched tv until my family got home. I ate dinner fast and went to my room. I went to sleep thinking.
*the next morning*
The next morning, I kept thinking about almost getting caught.
"I can't live like this anymore. I can't keep hiding."
It was a dumb idea because if I got caught doing it I could get into trouble, but I did it anyway.
I opened my foundation and covered my mark. I took some blue eyeshadow and put a blue mark on my cheek. I looked so much like a Seeker that it scared me.
My plan was to go to the Seeker District and pretend to be a Seeker. I thought it was pretty smart actually. No one would know. I just had to stay away from water or soap.
I went to my car and drove to the Seeker District. I told my family I was going to school. I put my backpack on and got out of the car.
Woah. This place was super nice. The Seekers looked like rich people. White mansions lined the roads, with large blue pools in their backyards. Kids were playing in their yards, no marks on their cheeks. I sighed. I remember when life was that simple. No worrying about dying or what you would be selected as.
I was too busy being in awe that I didn't see the person in front of me. I walked into them. "Hey!" They said smiling. I was a boy, about my age. I jumped, he scared the shit out of me. Worry flashed through my mind but he said, "sorry, did I scare you?" and laughed. I nodded slowly. I was scared. Would he recognize me?
He stuck his hand out. "I'm Jack." "Maya," I said and shook it.
A/N: sorry if this wasnt clear but in order to be properly "tagged" the Seeker has to touch your shoulder
