Julie's POV
I nervously waited with my family for my flight to be announced. I lived in Chicago, Illinois and was moving half way across the world to Sydney,
Australia. That was a big deal, at least to me it was. I was going to move in with my uncle for high school year, and after that who knows where I'll be. I only had one big suitcase, one small one, and a duffle bag. That should leave me with necessities to last a couple weeks. The rest of my stuff would be shipped to me through mail."I'm gonna miss you" my mom said, trying her hardest to smile. It was my decision, I just wanted something different.
"I'll miss you too, I promise to FaceTime you guys whenever I can." I smiled.
"That's good to hear" After that we went back to silence, sitting the minutes away until I leave, 'won't be back for a while' I thought.I couldn't help but feel scared and excited at the same time. Who knows what will happen to me. Once my thought was finished my flight was announced "Flight 182 to Sydney, Australia will be boarding now". I got up and checked my ticket for the thousandth time to make sure I was at the right place. And like all the other times I checked, I was.
I hugged my parents for the last time. Then I knelt next to my seven year old sister, Lily, and squeezed her tightly "be good okay, and take care of mom and dad" I said firmly. I felt a little guilty about not being there for her. What kind of sister would leave a 7 year old like that. She slowly nodded and waved goodbye as I headed toward the terminal. I showed the Flight attendant my ticket and began to board. I looked at my family one more time, then headed off to a whole new world.
