The room was filled with silence for a moment, no one wanted to say a word first.

Despite the atmosphere thickening once again, Seokjin's smirk never left his face.

Seokjin may look less dangerous than Taehyung but the said man holds more devious intentions. The man behind the laid back attitude is a man obsessed with the eyes of the desperate. It's what he absolutely enjoys.

It all leads to the same outcome, anyway. So why not make it more entertaining?

Playing with Jimin's mind was something he planned from the start. He intended to put Jimin in a situation which forces him to make a decisive change and it was effective, he can already read the doubt in Jimin's face.

Especially that lives are at stake, all that it takes is for him to mention "retriever" and it already made Jimin overthink. He can already see the contemplation in his eyes whether or not he should trust his friend.

"This isn't like you." Finally, Jimin breaks the silence. "Normally, you would comment something logical. That's not how you would answer the question, 'how can I trust you' That's bullshit."

"We have already established a relationship for a long time, how is that not a reason for you to trust?" Namjoon replies calmly but it didn't faze Jimin one bit.

"Why are you bringing that up now?!" Jimin finally snaps. "You can still betray those you care!"

"True, true." Seokjin comments in between. "Especially if you're desperate."

Namjoon takes a deep breath. "So you believe I care?"

Jimin paused at what he heard, his throat suddenly drying. "O-Of course. But you're only saying that to bait me."

Seokjin found himself chortling at a corner. This was so entertaining for him.

Namjoon stares at Jimin for a moment before heaving out a deep sigh. "I only ask for your trust."

Jimin glares at Namjoon, seemingly too immersed. "What is trust for you?"

"The foundation of friendship."

"Stop quoting quotes you memorized off the internet!" Jimin yells.

"Trust is— What? I did not. It was from my heart." Namjoon looks at him with furrowed eyebrows.

"Oh, now you have a heart. Aren't you a machine?" Jimin scoffs.

"Such bonehead like you just refuse to believe rational people exist."

Jimin gasps. "I'm rational."

"You are nothing but a fool."

"Tough talk, nerd!"

Seokjin's eyes shifts from one to the other as they bicker. Right now, he isn't chortling anymore. He was utterly confused as to why the two are now arguing like a married couple.
