*EDITING OF CHAPTER IN PROGRESS*
*Delilah's POV*
You can do it.
I repeated it over and over again, why did my mother insist on waiting for me to start dinner? My annoying older sister was in town with her boyfriend and my family simply couldn't live with themselves if the whole family didn't sit down together and have dinner. I was dressed in one of the many casual party dresses my mother had bought me for the many parties she hosted, Liam had been to a couple but I knew he never liked going. Tonight I decided to wear my favorite one, a simple peach laced long sleeved dressed that went a little past my knees and that made my hair stand out even more and it made it look like fire.
Once I believed I looked good enough for my family, I quickly slipped on matching peach flats and exited my large room. I wasn't one of those oblivious rich girl who allowed everything to be served on a silver platter for me and took it without a thank you, I knew my situation and I took advantage of it in a different way.
When Mom and Dad are out of town or out with friends, I invite the gang over and we hang out in the movie room and play video games, watch movies and sometimes pull some pranks on each other. It felt nice to ditch the dresses for a night and be treated like a human and not a pet.
I closed my eyes and counted to ten in my head before entering the dining room with my award-winning smile just to see four sets of eyes to snap into my direction. I recognized Mom and Dad and Dahlia polite smile was recognizable, along with her blonde hair that was straight unlike my wavy red hair that was some recessive gene from Dad's side.
"Delilah, so glad you could show up," she was trying to make me look back, but Dahlia interrupted my chance on making a clever comeback, "I'd like you to meet my boyfried, Nathan Flowers." she smile was simple, but I never fell for it anymore,
"It's very nice to meet you Nathan." I offered a smile and he smiled back, and with that I sat down and everyone was allowed to start eating the steak, mashed potatoes and green beans served on our plates,
"So how did you two meet?" Mom asked, she was a sucker for a cliche romance story,
Dahlia and Nathan shared a look before Dahlia started talking, "I was dragged to a frat party by a friend and we were both leaning against the same wall, at first I just thought he was another Frat guy since he was wearing their shirt but he persuaded me to allowing him to take me on a date and he proved me wrong by being a gentlemen." I saw Mom put her hand over her chest and make the 'aw' face and my dad was nodding approvingly, but Dahlia simply turned to me, "Why such the ugly scowl? They say not to scowl too much or you'll get wrinkles, which won't help you get a boyfriend." oh, she was evil, "Speaking of, have you had a boyfriend?"
"First of all you are three years older than me so you're the one that would get wrinkles and I-" I started,
"Delilah." Mom scolded, which was totally unfair since Dahlia was the one who wanted to fight, not me.
"Yes Mother." I simply said and started eating silently again before an idea popped in my head, "Mom?" I chirp, and she looked at me, "What if tomorrow you and Dad along with Dahlia and Nathan as a sort of double date, I can stay home and work on homework and you guys don't have to worry about me." I knew what I could do with my time, but no one would be doing homework, I smiled happily, "My treat, I've saved up some money from babysitting the McFarlene kids."
"Well, isn't that nice of you to offer, Derek, see what wonderful young ladies we raised?" Dad joyously smiled at me, "That would be wonderful for you to do thank you Delilah."
"Anything for you Mom." I knew Dahlia was probably fuming but I didn't care.
"So Nathan, where are you from?" Dad asked, changing the subject thankfully,
