Part 6

My phone starts ringing and I answer it

Joey

I answer the phone,"Hello?"

"Hey", he says, "I won't be here tomorrow at school"

"Oh"

"Yeah, I have a doctors appointment that will be during school hours so just thought I'd let you know"

Why does he have to let me know though..?

I laugh,"Nah it's okay but thanks for letting me know?"

"See you on Thursday"

"Bye", I end the call

I put my phone down, that was so random...did he really want me to know that bad he had to call?

I laugh at the thought of that

My backpack is sitting on the edge of my bed, ugh I'm too lazy to even get started on homework right now

I look at my bed, but if I just finish now I won't have to worry

Soon I'm done and put my stuff away in my backpack, I get up from my bed and brush my teeth, etc

Brandon walks in the second I'm about to tuck myself in bed, "what?"

He stands there,"I'm scared...can I sleep here?"

I roll my eyes, "No Brandon, now go back to your room"

He whimpers, "Please?"

I can see how scared he looks by the look in his eyes, "Okay fine"

He closes the door behind him and gets under the blanket, I tuck myself in and turn off my light

He moves closer to me for comfort, I start falling asleep until Brandon starts asking questions like always

"Where's Joey?", he asks

I roll my eyes, why is he asking about Joey?

I answer, "Joey left before dinner"

"Why?", he turns to me

"I don't know, he just said he had to leave"

"Do you like him...?", he sounds like he wants to know so bad

"No Brandon", I answer,"He is just a friend"

He looks away

"I've told you multiple times already, why do you want a different answer?"

"Because he seems like he likes you..."

I gulp

He thinks Joey likes me?

No

he doesn't think of me that way

"Why do you say that?", I ask

"It's so obvious", he smiles,"And I think you guys look cute together"

Obvious? Brandon's just a kid, he doesn't know what he's saying

I don't want to tell him much about my personal business so I just give him small answers

I laugh, "We just met"

"So?"

"So? We can't just get together so quick, we need to get to know each other", I answer

"He likes you, Lauren", he says

I roll my eyes, "Whatever"

"Just go to sleep", I shut my eyes

We end up falling asleep after that conversation, I don't want to bring it up anymore
