"Thank you, Jackie. Thank you for listening. I really needed it."
Jimin wipes his damp face with his sleeves and Jackie shows a small smile.
"I think that you are a very strong and good-hearted young man who has just had a rough start in life. You can talk to me whenever you feel like, Jimin, I want to help you. I live right there."
Jackie points to the door behind the register.
"If you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to take care of Jiae, a cupcake, anything, I'm right here. Just knock and I'll be right out for you."
Jimin can't believe, that after all that he has told her, she thinks of him as someone good and strong. Nevertheless, he hugs her.
"Thank you so much."
Jackie chuckles softly and hugs him back.
"I think Jiae is missing you, don't you?"
Jimin smiles, nodding, and Jackie pulls back from the hug.
Jimin follows the older to the door and is met with a well equipped kitchen. He stops right outside, not wanting to intrude.
"You can come inside if you'd like."
Jimin follows her further inside into a living room. It's quite spacious, more than enough room for one. They continue on and reach a bedroom.
Jiae is laying in the middle of the bed, humming silently as her eyes are focused on the small cat sitting on the windowsill.
Jimin smiles with fondness at the sight. She has been quiet this whole time, not complaining once. He walks over to her and lifts her up.
"Hi, little one."
He kisses her nose, making her scrunch it up and grin. Then she turns her head and tries to look at the cat again.
"Do you like cats?"
Jiae makes a bubbling sound.
"Yeah? Me too."
Jackie walks over and picks the cat up, holding it in her arms and moving to stand in front of Jimin and Jiae.
Jiae immediately reaches out and touches the soft fur.
"His name is Puzzle."
Jimin uses his other hand to show Jiae how to pet it, smiling as she is very gentle.
"He's adorable."
Puzzle is unusually small and has white fur with orange and brown spots, making him very individual.
Jiae giggles loudly as the cat starts licking her hand and retracts it, unaccustomed to the feeling.
"He likes you."
Jackie says and Jimin smiles while Jiae continues to giggle, wiping her hand on Jimin's shirt.
"We should go now. Thanks again, for listening."
Jackie smiles.
"Anytime. Make sure to stop by soon."
Jimin nods and walks out of the cafe with lighter steps, but a continuously heavy heart.
