Day 75

Mother explained everything to me last night and all I could think of is that my whole childhood was a lie but God forgives and so am I. So I said I understand, just like what I always say. She said it's better to meet my family as soon as possible. I agreed, but in one condition, she won't mention my health condition.

Today is the second day of the Science experiment and my mood just don't match Josh's annoyance. He's been clinging to me the whole day but it wasn't enough to change my mood. I bet he wonders what happened to me and I don't care because I can't think of anything right now except on what will going to happen that I have to face my legitimate family before my death.

-

"Are you okay?" he asked all of a sudden, resting his arm on my shoulder while I'm doing our Science project.

"I think so." I replied. He grabbed whatever I am doing and did it by himself. I just watched him, carefully finishing everything that is needed for the day.

"Don't lie to me." I looked away.

"I was just, scared... of facing the truth." He focused his attention on what he's doing for a few minutes then faced me right after.

"Truth hurts, they say. But even if it hurts so damn much, either we want it or not, we still do have to face it sooner or later don't we?" He pushed some of my hair behind my ear. "If that's the case, why delay?" Now, he stared directly at my eyes. "Better face it than escape. Better live freely than hide." I nodded and he kissed my forehead.

Day 76

Little by little, I'm starting to think that we didn't actually break up. I felt like we're together again but still quite confused since we don't talk about us. We're not even texting or exchanging messages. He's not present for the third day of experiment since he has another groupings to attend to but something else happened today. I met my parents and they're not what I thought they were..

I thought they're arrogant and rude for my mother said they're rich. It turns out, they are very humble and kind. Thought they were strict and snob but they gave me a warm welcome. They are pure and soft and I actually looks like them. My mom's tiny face, kissable lips, average round eyes and smooth skin. My dad's wavy black hair and pointed nose, even his cute cheekbones.

Dinner went good and the scruple I've felt when I first saw them disappeared as we talked. They are fun and natural to talk to as if we've known each other for so long. They loosen their formality and acted cool so the conversation went smoothly and naturally like we don't have to think about what to say or reply. We even lost track of time. Then when my dad told me they're going to wait me home and that they've missed me so much, I know my fate suddenly changed.

Day 78

This will be the last day of the experiment, meaning, last day of being together in the same group.

--

"Here, take a picture of this." the leader took everything on her hand with her assistant. Since she doesn't need our help anymore, Josh teased me instead. He locked my shoulders in his long arm.

"Why do you still look like a couple even though you got separated?" - Oliver

"It's because she still loves me." he claimed.

"Yuck!" I said and moved away from him but he pulled me again.

"I'm starting to doubt if you really broke up." another classmate named Sheena, stated.

Josh isn't paying attention to them but instead, he leaned closer to my ear. "Are you okay?"

"What are you talking about?" I played dumb. He tucked my side bangs behind my ear.

"I think you're sad and you're denying it."

Yep. I am sad indeed. I can't help but to think about my mother being alone in her lonely unit after I moved in with my parents. And yes, I'm going to move in today. It's heartbreaking to see my mother fake her smile just to make me feel relieved.

Day 79

Meeting my family isn't that bad after all. My two older siblings are as cool as our parents. There's no need to tell me how much they've missed me cause it's obvious when you look at their sparkling eyes. They embraced me warmly with their sweet smiles and tears of joy. But what's more amazing is that, they're not just rich. I think they're multi millionaire.

--

"What's that smell?" I found my mom and dad in the kitchen baking something delicious.

"Your mother said you love blueberry so we made a blueberry pie!" mom said, wearing a lovely smile. My eyes twinkled as I inhaled the good smell. Dad pinched my cheek.

"BOOO!" I almost got a heart attack when my older brother, Yvanne, startled me.

"GOTCHA SIS!" He said and patted my head. My older sister, Yzavhelle, pulled my wrist.

"Come join us!" In the receiving area, I saw two unfamiliar faces of a man and a woman.

"Oh right, we haven't introduced then to you." she excitedly said.

"This is my husband, Joaquin and--"

"My wife, Deyn." I felt my forehead crumpled out of confusion.

"Oh, you're both married? You don't seem like an adult to me." The four of them looks like college students.

"Yup! It's just a fixed marriage but it's our advantage cause we liked each other since we were young" My brother said. My sister tapped the space beside her. So, they were childhood best friends.

"That will happen to you soon."

"Wacky, don't scare her. She's only 17." My brother hissed then Wacky apologized.

"Actually we're seven. You should meet the other three soon."

--

Weekend went fun and fast. It's just a day but I already felt close to them. My dad told me to ask whatever I want to know about the day when they lost me. I told them it's not important to me anymore. I'm back now and that's all what matters.
