Chapter 9- Selfish Emperor

Azusa wakes up feeling weak.. As she sees herself at a small bed with a candle light beside her.. Bandages wraps around her chest and arms as she glances at the door she saw a old woman wearing poor clothes..

' oh dear you're awake.. ' the old woman goes closer to Azusa while holding a bowl of pudding...

' w-where am I... ' Azusa speaks weakly...
' you're in wuhei my dear.. ' the old lady replied...

' that's a mile away from Kawachong... ' Azusa was shocked..
The old Lady explained to Azusa how she get in to Wuhei..
The old lady said she was found by bunch of guards sailing from the sees
That's why she got in here.. She was supposed to be brought by the Emperor himself but she has no valuable things with her that's why the guards throw her in the seashore where the old woman found her..

Azusa quickly muttered..
' thank you for saving my life... '

' you're welcome my dear... '
The old woman replied with a smile..

' Grandma--she's awakee! ' the little boy rushed to Azusa then hugs her

' woah.. ' Azusa giggles a bit
' I'm Pao! ' The little boy cheerfully greets Azusa.

~ HORN SOUNDS WOULD BE HEARD SUDDENLY ~

The old woman gasps
' he's here... Come on now! '
The old woman goes outside

' come on miss.. It's the emperor... '
Pao muttered sadly...
' emperor? ' Azusa asked

When they go outside they would line, Azusa just go with it,obviously ..she isn't know what's going on to this town, they all bow up, while bowing a couple of soldiers riding horses would go past them.. And when Azusa glances her eyes up.. She saw the Emperor himself...

They've been serving this selfish and cruel Emperor for years now...the emperor takes everything beautiful on the town and take it to his empire... Who ever refuse or didn't  give a beautiful gift to the empire will be vanished to the town...

The emperor sat on his thrown and looks at the villagers.. He evily declared..
' Bring forth my gifts.. '
He claps his hands for 1 second and the villagers would give him gifts one by one..

Pao and the old woman are almost close in line with Azusa..
The old woman spokes weakly..
' here is your gift my emperor... '

The emperor rolls his eyes.. Then just said..
' Next... '

After they were finished in line.. One old guy has nothing to his hands.. No gifts... The emperor looks furious..
' WHERE IS YOUR OFFERING TO THE KING TO FILTHY PEASANT! '
The king cruelty shouted at the old guy...

As the old guy explained that he has nothing anymore the king threw him out! Of the town...

Azusa was shocked what just she saw... Such a cruel emperor... Selfish.. Unkind...
Azusa looks around at the Villagers looking poor... Hopeless...

Azusa was planning to leave this place soon.. But she can not leave them in a condition like this...
She glance at the emperor going inside of the Empire...
She frowned..

~ Night time ~

The old woman served pudding for Azusa and his grandson Pao...

' How long did he rule here? '... Azusa asked...

' a lot of years actually.... ' the old woman replied slowly...

Pao missed his toys... And friends...
When night falls nobody should be outside to their homes...

' this town was used to be happy... Intil.. ... one day..the empress got killed, and his brother prince Cheng...become the emperor...' the old lady sadly stated a sad truth..

A shocked sad look spread to Azusas face...

' Emperor Cheng is trained by his father many years ago.., his fully skilled.. And strong.. No one had dared to challenge him for a battle... '
Pao quickly muttered..

Azusa got an idea to save this hopeless people for this cursed empire...
