I hear someone trying to engage in a conversation with me. I finish the coloring assignment I was working on and look up to see who was talking. There was a girl with short brown hair put into pigtails. She had pale skin and freckles surrounding her rosy cheeks. Her green eyes looked at me with question, as she asked me again, " I'm sorry to bother you, but I think that we would be good friends!" I watched her closely looking at her reaction while she spoke.
" Yeah, best friends!"
I stand up nearly tripping over my own two feet. The soft moonlight feels like thousands of pins stabbing me at the same time. I wipe something off of my face only to see darkness staring back at me. I lay on my back hoping to catch my breath, I slowly get engulfed in a shadow. The dark figure smiles an unnerving smile and draws a knife. It swings at me and I turn to the side, hoping for it to miss. The sharp blade knicks my skin and I wince in pain. I gather the last of my strengh as I pull myself up. I look quickly for an escape, I head for what appears to be a thick bundle of trees to my left. I look back to see nothing behind me. I smile as I think I have been lost, next I find myself on the ground. My ankle throbs as I try to push myself up. I feel a heavy weight press against my back, preventing me from moving. "I take back everything I said."
This is the first portion of the book, I tried not to reveal too much. I promise next update will be longer, I just couldn't find anything else to add here. 302 words.
