I turn to look behind me when I see a young man. He had dark hair and cold eyes. I shifted my weight onto my left knee and tried to stand up. "If you are gonna ignore my question, than I might as well ignore the fact that I have to ask before I shoot." I look at him with confusion as my mind tries to peace together what he said. He facepalmed, "If I didn't know any better, I would think that you aren't from here." He grabs my left wrist and looks at it closely.
His expression changed and he smiled at me. "Sorry about pointing a gun at you, I just kinda freaked out. I think that you dropped it somewhere." He smiled as he led me through the demolished town I once loved.
I look at him and tug, making us both stop. "What is going on here," tears fill my eyes. "I wasn't meant to come here." As much as I hated asking for help, I did. The coldness returned, then got replaced by fear. "You have 30 seconds to explain." I lay on the dusty ground and bury my head in my hands.
"You aren't the only one who wants to know."
I stay there for what feels like hours. I hear the dirt move and look up. I see him facing away from me, rocking back and forth muttering to himself. I get up and walk slowly towards him. "Did I do something wrong?"
"You aren't supposed to be here. Nobody has come here in centuries. You have the mark though. How did you enter?"
I put my hand out, "We got on the wrong foot when we met. My name is Ellody." He looks at me with caution before placing his hand in mine. "Elijah, but you have some explaining to do."Forgot how bad I am at conversations. Been a bit busy, I will make next update a lot longer. 331 words.
