Prologue

I guess you could say me and Gabe are basically two sides of the same coin. One side is mortality, the other is pretty much immortality. We're both connected by our past pain. Normally soulmates mirror someone almost exactly, right? Maybe I'm destined to be with him. I witnessed the horror of my own family, became absolutely terrified and fled. Gabriel did too. I mean, he witnessed his own family on the brink of war with one another and fled due to fear, while I simply just tried to rebel against my own father, became somewhat terrified by his words and fled from him. I knew what he could do if I came back. He threatened to do that every time I disobeyed him, or even if Dean questioned his orders and actions like I constantly did. He threatened to end me if I came back. Probably in some sort of sadistic way to match his personality. That's why Dean protected me with his entire life when I was 22, and after that night he turned up at my apartment, because he knew I'd have to face my father again, and he knew what the consequences could potentially be, and that I could still be hurt mortally in the future. I'd do the same for Gabriel. I'd protect him with my entire life, just like Dean did.
