-Sam's POV-
I glared wearily at the tab I had open on my laptop's browser. My eyes were beginning to become heavy as I spent all night researching supernatural cases within the US, apart from passing out at 5am and waking up now at 7am. I let out a long yawn as I typed somewhat hastily on my keyboard, as if it was my body's way of saying that it begged for a regular sleep schedule. However, I hadn't had any sort of sleep schedule for 15 years. Ever since my father's disappearance due to him being so obsessed with hunting the demon Azazel, who killed my mother when I was only 6 months old, I lived my life on the road with Dean, both hunting demons and searching for his whereabouts. It's been 14 years since he traded his life to keep Dean alive, but he's still here. His words, the wounds he inflicted on me, they were still there, eating away at me. I could live every moment he hurt me or Dean vividly, as if it was in the present, and I'd still feel the pain.
I felt very light tapping on my shoulder which instantly snapped me back to reality. The comforting aroma of coffee was right in front of me, as well as the man who was constantly on my mind. Gabriel. I wasn't even sure why I constantly thought about him, nor did I have the time to even do so due to my occupation. It was most likely worry though. I worry about everyone who is close to me. It's a natural reaction nowadays. I gazed into his hazel eyes with an exhausted expression and yawned, "good morning, Gabe" "morning, Sammy. Thought you needed a coffee. No offense, but you just look like you're about to break your jaw from how hard you're yawning." I smiled and replied, "None taken." He laughed then took a seat next to me at the dining table, looking at the notes briefly then glancing over to me for a brief minute and instantly stated once my lips approached the cup of coffee, "by the way, it's drinkable. I made sure to cool it down a little before giving it to you, seeing as you also have an obsession with trying to burn your tongue off." "Thank you," I yawned, taking a few sips as Gabriel grabbed a pen and began jotting notes down on the creature we were hunting, occasionally glancing up at the laptop then jotting notes down once again. He had a tendency to write rather quickly, but was miraculously neat. I looked at Gabe and smiled "so, any ideas on what we may be hunting yet?" He simply held his index finger up, as if to say, "if you shut up, then maybe if I could figure that out for you." I nodded and glanced down at the notes. Some things that he had written in the margin I couldn't exactly understand as they were in Enochian. The only thing I could understand was 'shit, I think he knows'. I assumed this was just connected to the case and didn't question anything. Besides, Gabe didn't like his research being interrupted. To be fair, neither did I. If your research is interrupted, then your knowledge is immediately drained. You forget what you were writing and your mind goes blank, therefore you cannot even think what creature you could be facing. He suddenly uttered the four words, "possessed angel, I think." He passed me the notes he made. Everything did fit together perfectly, though saying that, he would probably be able to easily detect an angel that had been possessed. He's probably like a walking, talking possessed angel GPS, just like how me and Dean could probably easily tell if someone was possessed by a demon right off the bat. "Should we confirm it with Bobby?" He nodded. I looked up at him due to his unusual silence and noticed the thick beads of sweat on his forehead. "You okay, Gabe? Is it to do with the case or something?" "U-um, yeah. Yeah, it is." "Gabe," I spoke in a lulled voice, "me, Dean, Cas or Bobby aren't gonna let anything hurt you again. I know you're still somewhat traumatised after the torture you went through, but I want you to know I'm here if you need to talk or anything. I don't care if you want to talk about the most stupid thing I could think of, I'll still listen to you." He then gave me a somewhat brief hug then smiled "I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, Sammy." "Don't call me Sammy." "Samsung?" "Bite me." He laughed "anyway, come back to me when you've confirmed everything with Bobby. I'll be waiting here~" he winked. I couldn't help but blush as I headed to Bobby's room.
I blushed, damnit. If Gabe saw, I'm probably done for. It's gonna be sex joke after sex joke, though that's just his entire vocabulary anyway, apart from sarcasm and sass.
