"No! Listen to me woman! Zach's falsetto in Buzzed is way hotter than the grunt part in Journey to the End of My Life."
"Whatever Lacy! You can’t honestly tell me that, that part isn’t the greatest thing you've ever heard!"
"Okay I’m done. Done! This conversation is over. We've been on it for like 45 freaking minutes. Now, what are we going to do about the problem regarding Mr. Quiseng?"
"There is NOTHING wrong with him, except for the fact that he knows not of our existence yet."
"Well yeah, but I'm talking about the fact that he never has his shirt off any more. With that kind of body, you need to flaunt. I mean I’m not asking for the whole 'Hey baby, I know I'm sexy so look at this body and eat your hearts out ladies.' But still showing us a little something something you know what I mean?"
I shrug intensely scrunching up my freckled nose "I like him better with his clothes on personally."
As soon as I said this i realized that I sound mentally insane.
I mean what girl doesn’t want to see a sexy 21 year old shirtless? I guess I like his fashion, I honestly don’t know what it is about him. My thoughts are never clear when it comes to alluring Cameron Quiseng.
As I expected Lacy is sitting next to me with her mouth open thinking exactly what I was..
"What the ever living crap is wrong with you Danielle! You are so weird. I can't even look at you right now. Just the thought of never seeing Cameron's body sends chills through mine. Chills! SEE! Look!! Goose Bumps. Goose! Bumps!" She lets out an over exaggerated sigh and places her ear buds back in, behind her perfectly straightened blonde hair.
I stare at her for a second, then turned to face out the bus window just in time to see the Welcome to California sign.
I cant believe we are actually doing this.
We're moving out to California for the next 6 months. (We both graduated early with extra credits so we could spend more than just the summer in Cali.) Lacy and I have been dreaming about this since we were 16! The beach, the concerts, the insanely hot guys, not to mention the celebrities we might come across. Our parents never thought we would actually have the guts to do it, but we showed them, it’s been 2 days on the road and we haven’t looked back once!
Two years ago we meet our friend Ariel at an Allstar Weekend concert. It had been her 6th concert and she was showing us the ins and outs of the system, how to get the set lists, guitar picks, etc. Lacy and I, being concert virgins, were still star struck at the whole "Zach Porter just looked at me!! Catch me, I'm fainting" thing. We were just fortunate not to have thrown up on them. She really saved our lives if you think about it. We would’ve made absolute fools out of ourselves, even though our dancing kind of ruined the whole chance of normality thing.
Since the first concert we'd been to three others, two with Ariel and the third with our friend Emily. We had stayed in touch with Ariel over the years, but it was pretty hard considering she lived in Poway, California and we lived in Richmond, Virginia. But we emailed, texted, FaceTimed and occasionally met up halfway once or twice. Ariel is 19 and was getting her own apartment when she graduated. She wasn’t planning on going to college though. Ariel was I guess you could say, free spirited. She had three part time jobs, but made most of her money from her paintings. Being the amazing person she is, Ariel told us we could stay in her 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment/house when we moved down. Yes, it was small and kind of ran down, but hey, it was free and close to the beach.
Three girls living in one apartment is definitely going to suck. Oh yeah, and she has a boyfriend now. Apparently it's pretty serious too, because he comes down like every day from college and stays there on the weekends. That'll be fun. The only thing we know about this mystery man is the little details she has decided to share with us. Apparently he's majorly attractive, pale, blue eyes, brown hair, and freckles, lots of them. Pretty generic description I thought. Lacy wanted a picture, but she said we'd just have to wait to see him in person and that we would never guess who it was in a million years. She left us pretty curious and agitated as to his identity. All I’m saying is he better not leave the toilet seat up.
I must have dozed off because I woke up to the sound of Lacy snoring. Briskly, I sat up getting a blood rush and turned to face the window.
We're here.
