After auditioning, Jimin had immediately gotten a call from a company called BigHit. They wanted him to sign with them, so he did. Once the contract was signed he was brought back home to collect his things and have a moment to part ways with his family. It hurt, to leave them, but he knew they were proud of him and would be watching him on stage always, so in a way, they were still with him. Even if it wasn't psychically.
Jimin leaned against the car door staring out of the window lost in thought. He was on his way to his new dorm where he'd be living with the other 6 members of the company. He wasn't sure how it'd turn out. He never really liked sharing space with others anyway, let alone strangers. The man that signed him - who went by Bang PD - hadn't told him much about the others. Their names, ages, nothing.
The man only said that Jimin would get to know them once he got to the dorm. Jimin wasn't expecting much. A couple of wannabe cool kids, maybe. The popular boy and his clique in high school. Something cliché like that. The night before, his longtime friend had called him and raved on for hours about an 'audition' he went to with another friend of his.
Jimin merely lied in bed with his phone rested ontop his cheek letting his dongsaeng get it all out of his system. He knew he was happy. His friend didn't go into details about what exactly happened or where he went for the audition. He just said that it was a secret and that Jimin would be proud of him. He didn't know why his friend felt the need to constantly seek approval from him. They were friends. Best friends.
That's it.
Nothing would ever break their bond. Jimin felt that it was mostly his fault his friend had gotten so attached to him though. He'd spoiled him rotten and the dongsaeng was just glued to him now.
".. So what's it like?" Jimin asked the driver of the vehicle. The driver shrugged keeping her eyes trained on the rode. "Come on, Noona. You're our staff. You have to have met them by now. What are they like?" He asked watching as the noona's cheeks turned pink from being called the name.
She sighed shrugging again. "You'll like them." She said finally.
"Will I?" Jimin asked suppressing a smirk.
"They're very sweet boys. I think you'll get along with them well."
"If they're anything like you we'll definitely get along." Jimin said.
The noona bit her bottom lip keeping her gaze on the road ahead of her. "You're dangerous." She breathed. Jimin smirked turning his head to gaze out of the window once again.
"I know.."
~
"I told you two to cut it out."
"V won't leave me alone!"
"Why won't you call me 'hyung'? Just once. Is all I ask."
"Can I just be left alone??"
"You're so cute though."
"V, I said to quit now. I won't save you if he gets mad."
"Call me 'hyung.' You do it for the others but not me. I always give you affection though so why not??"
"... Rapmon-hyung, please."
"Just leave him be. It's not a big deal."
"Why do you hate me, Kook??"
Jimin opened the door slowly pressing his lips tightly together. He had heard the argument from the other end of the hall and he didn't want to go in the room while it was going on, but the lingering staff members had urged him to go in. 3 other guys stared back at him. A brunette with a bunny-like face was holding the wrist of a person with fluffy gray hair with a striking face whom Jimin instantly recognized.
"... What, TAEHYUNG??"
"Jiminie?!"
The bunny released Taehyung and he instantly ran over to Jimin to wrap him in a tight hug. "No way, was this the audition you were talking about?" Jimin asked.
Taehyung nodded, box smile gracing his face. "Why didn't you tell me you were doing it too?"
"Damn, I wanted to surprise you."
"You two know each other?" A deep, raspier voice asked. Jimin and Taehyung both turned towards the voice. "Hyung, this is my longtime friend. We met in high school." V said. The man approached Jimin reaching out a hand in a friendly manner. "Park Jimin? PD-nim told us you were coming today. Sorry you had to show up to this." The man said wrinkling his eyebrows at the snack mess that was left on the coffee table.
Jimin took the man's hand in his own unable to avert his eyes. His hands were soft and held Jimin's gently. He didn't want to pull away, but the other man had made that move first taking a step back giving Jimin a full view of his slender frame. The man was tall. Way taller than Jimin. A slender waist, like a woman.
He sported a goofy smile across his face. "I'm Namjoon."
"He's our leader." Taehyung whispered in Jimin's ear.
"Namjoon.." Jimin repeated unconsciously. "-hyung." Taehyung added, whispering again.
"This is Jungkookie." The taller man spoke again looking down at the bunny-faced person who kept his head down. "He's shy." Namjoon said.
At this point Jimin hadn't heard anything else Namjoon had said. He was entranced by the man. The slenderness of his body. The deep, rapperlike voice. The slight melanin skin tone.
The.. dimples..
"Stop looking down, Kookie." Taehyung said playing with Jungkook's few curly strands of hair. The other smacked Taehyung's hand away.
"Quit." He warned shooting a glare at Jimin's friend. V sighed backing away from the couch. "He's so mean to me.." He said.
"You smother him, Tae." Namjoon exclaimed.
"But, he's so cute. I'm just being an affectionate hyung."
Jimin raised an eyebrow. He glanced at Jungkook for a moment then looked back towards his friend. "He's a year younger than me. So he's our dongsaeng, but he doesn't respect me in any way whatsoever, but that's fine." V explained. Namjoon's phone buzzed and he reached into his pocket to answer it.
After a glance at the text he slipped passed Jimin and Taehyung to leave only to have the manggae instinctively wrap his fingers around the man's forearm. Jungkook stared at the action curiously. "Is something wrong?" Namjoon asked genuinely concerned. Something had built in Jimin. Something familiar. A yearning sensation.
Namjoon was captivating to look at. His skin was soft from what Jimin could feel. "I'm sorry..." Jimin said finally releasing his new leader. Namjoon turned and placed a hand onto his dongsaeng's shoulder.
"Hey, if anything is bothering you, talk to me. I know this is hard. For everyone right now. Being away from home, our families. I know it's hard, but we'll get used to this and make them proud. Keep your head high, Jiminie." Namjoon said with a dimpled smile following after.
Jimin felt his heart flip in his ribcage. Dread filled him as he watched his hyung exit the room and disappear from his view. "He called you what I call you." Taehyung said. "... I like hearing it from his lips." Jimin said eyes still trained on the door awaiting his leader's arrival again.
"Rude." Taehyung replied.
After a few minutes of gazing at the door without rest Jimin finally decided to take a seat in a recliner opposite of where Jungkook had been sat playing a game on his phone. Taehyung had left to go to the bathroom. Jimin pressed a fist to his lips lost in thought.
Namjoon. He was Jimin's hyung and the group's leader. That's all Jimin knew. He wanted to know more. He wanted to see more. He wanted to.. feel more, but... it was too soon. Way too soon.
It was his first day here, after all..
