Anima City was in a state of panic. All of the city's inhabitants were focused on an old 5 story tall, dilapidated building in the middle of Rabbit town. The whole city held its breath as they watched the disaster before them unfold.
A blonde, rugged, man of Caucasian descent stood at one of the windows of the old building, his short messy hair flowing wildly due to the news helicopters circling around the abandoned office. Piercing blue eyes glared towards the police and bystanders down below. The flashing of the police sirens, causing him to squint. The man raised his hand, concealed behind the window frame, brandishing a silver handgun. The crowd gasped before covering their ears as the criminal raised his pistol and fired several shots into the sky, silencing the formerly noisy crowd. Now that all of the city's attention was focused on him as he raised his other hand, revealing a megaphone, and bringing it to his lips as he spoke.
"Listen up!" The man's voice boomed through the megaphone. "We have hostages. A total of eleven, including your precious mayor. We won't lay a finger on them, provided you meet our demands."
Yuji Tachiki, the chief inspector of the Anima City police, looked thoughtfully at his fellow officers, before turning back towards the building megaphone in hand, "Alright, alright." The chief inspector sighed, "What are your demands?"

Life was peaceful in Anima City; the Nirvasyl syndrome caused quite an unrest within the special beastmen zone, but things were dying down. The last of those affected were administered the special serum, Alan Sylvasta had stepped down from his position, and most of the destroyed infrastructure was being rebuilt.
Within the span of three months, Anima City was back to normal. Beastmen returned to the streets going on with their daily lives. The laughter of children and the sound of traffic returned once more to the city. Life was as peaceful as it could be in a city filled with beastmen.
That was until, another three months later, the mayor decided to open up the city...
...to humans.
Anima City was once again thrown into discord, with the city's residents split almost evenly on the matter. A large percentage of the city opposed the notion of allowing humans into the city, stating that Anima City was a city for beastmen only, and that the humans would only bring down the only safe haven for beastmen they had worked so hard for. Meanwhile, another half argued that opening the city to humans was the only logical next step. They believed that humans and beastmen coexisting would be beneficial to both parties. They believed that humans and beastmen working together for mutual benefit would bring forth a new era of prosperity.
The dispute raged on for months, both sides giving it their all. Until finally the mayor came to a decision.

Michiru POV
The sunlight shone in through one of the windows in my room and onto my face. I groggily got up from my bed and rubbed my eyes. Pulling out my phone, I checked the time.
The display read "8:00AM."
I raised my arms above my head, giving myself a good stretch as I let out a yawn. Today was a brand new day in Anima City.
Standing up from my bed, I made my way down the stairs into the living room. I shook off some of my drowsiness as I eyed the table, already set.
"Good morning Michiru." Greeted Shirou, who was already sitting at the dining table, eyes glued to a book in one hand, with a cup of coffee in the other.
"Good morning Shirou." I replied, taking a seat in the chair directly across from him.
I rested my head in my arms as I lounged on the table. Looking towards the kitchen, I saw Gem and Melissa preparing breakfast. Today they were making waffles.
