The week was passing, tickets were booked, plans were made and preparations were done. It would be an understatement to say that Delia was reluctant. After all who took their five years old son to a world tour? But here she was, a defeated mother infront of her child's demand. And surprisingly Ash was showing some traits which he never showed earlier. That is his stubbornness. Delia tried to talk Ash out of this tour, but Ash was adamant. He stood firm on his ground and clearly mentioned that he won't back down, whatever Delia would say. And thus, the plans were final.

Where Delia's week was totally hectic due to preparations, Ash spent his week as an excited bubble. In this week, Ash did many things. He read about all the six regions he was going to travel. He learnt how to play his flute and he confronted Gary. The confrontation was quite dramatic actually.

On the fourth day of the preparations, Ash was sitting in his room reading about the sinnoh region when the door snapped open. He looked up from his book to see Gary standing there.
"Gary!" Ash greeted cheerfully, standing up and moving to him.
Gary stopped the boy.
"Ash, why are you going?" Gary asked looking serious.
Ash glanced at his all but blood brother in confusion.
"What do you mean Gary?" Ash asked.
"Whatever we did till today, we did together and now you are leaving for the tour of all six regions without me Ash. How is this fair?" Gary asked slumping on the bed.

"Gary, I am sorry. I truly am, but I have to do this alone. But don't worry, when I will come back..."
"If you will come back!" Gary shouted suddenly.
"Grandpa said that father too went on such tour and he didn't come back. Ever." Gary mumbled looking down.
Ash looked surprised at the outburst, before he started laughing.
Gary looked up to see his laughing face and huffed.
"Here I am worried about you and you are being a douche bag!" Gary said crossing his arms with a frown.
"Language Gary!" Ash said in between his laughs.
Gary gave him a glare.
"Ok ok! Sorry Gary. But what I am doing won't be dangerous. We are just going to visit some major cities and towns and we will be back even before you will realise." Ash said.
Gary nodded.
"Promise Ashy-boy?" Gary asked.
"Yep, it's a promise." Ash replied with a huge smile.

The other thing, that was learning flute, Ash was becoming a champion at that. Ash loved his flute. It was blue coloured one with few silver strokes on it. The flute always shone in bright sunlight giving a lustre of a shiny metal. The holes were perfect and Ash was able to play it beautifully. Leaf was proud of his pseudo-nephew. Ash's flute could do magic. Today was the last day of Ash on the ranch. Delia, professor Oak and Gary have left for the city for some last moment checks. Gary went with them as he wanted to give something to Ash before he left. Leaf was sitting out under a shade as she watched Ash sitting under a tree in the ranch and playing a soft tune. And as was routine, all the Pokemons who heard the tune, whether wild or of ranch, would come here to sit around him. Leaf smiled at the scene, but the smile grew as she remembered the first day when Ash played the flute.

After his birthday, Ash took out his flute which Leaf has gifted him. He took the flute to his mouth before blowing in it as if he was testing. When a shrill sound was produced, he smiled. Taking a deep breath only to produce some various unpleasant sounds. He frowned before removing the flute and looking at it as if it highly offender him.
"It's broken." He said and Leaf, Delia and professor bursted into laughter.
Ash looked at them with a frown.
"Why are you all laughing?" Ash asked.
"Oh dear." Delia said standing up.
"It's not the flute that is broken my child. You have to learn how to play it. It won't work automatically." She said with a playful smile before ruffling his raven hair. Ash looked at the flute with a frown.

"But the drum you brought me mum, it works like that only. I can hit it wherever I want and it will still produce the same sound." Ash said genuinely confused.
"Aw sweetie, because that drum has a recorded audio which plays itself when you hit it. And so it is automatic. However this flute is not. So you have to learn it, by trying various sounds and pitches." Delia explained and Ash's mouth formed in a perfect 'O' in realisation.
