Lex shot up in her seat when she heard -what sounded like- a crack of a whip. "Tallulah Rea Alexander!" Of course, towering over me was Mrs. Walters with a ruler in her hand. The embodiment of the devil. Winona Walters, a evil old prune of a teacher. Flat chested, with a sunk-in pixie-like face, she stood tall with stalky giraffe legs. And pale skin that made her dull tired hazel eyes appear black.

"My name is Lex." she whispered.

"No, Tallulah, That is your name." The bell rang -thankfully- interrupting her. "I exspect more from you, Mrs. Alexander." she sqwaked. Lex rolled her grey-blue eyes, and glanced over her shoulder shooting a worried smile to Michael, who sat in the back of the class. Though, shy-multi-colored-Michael, quickly looked to his shoes. "Class is dismissed."

Winnona continued to shoot her dirty looks while Lex quickly packed her things in her messenger bag. By the time she finished, Mikey was by her side, and slung her bag over his shoulder. Being the last period of the day they walked to the north-gate, the least busy route that lead to the dorms.

"Alex, are you alright?" Michael said, walking closely alongside her. "You're not a very convincing sleeper while staring at a wall. What's wrong?" He waited for her reply, but the hall remained silent. "Lex, what is it? You seem out of it today?"

"I am."

"Is it-"

"Calum?" Mikey shrugged, and nodded for her to go on."Yeah. I'm worried about him." She sighed, kicking a puddle. They walked across the north sports field to reach the dorms, it was raining, making Mikey's hair appear more pigmented red than it should. Everything around them seemed dull in this lighting, though even from a distantance, Lex knew she and Mikey's bright hair would be visible.

Mikey looked taken back, "Why?"

She shrugged, staring at the ground. Most likely looking for pine cone to shuck at a tree. "He's been acting strange lately, ever since Luke and I got together." Michael chewed on his lip, he knew more than she did. Oh boy, he knew. Though, Lucy is oblivious. Calum is deteriorating and coming closer to confession every day.

"I think he just is being-" Mikey struggled to get the word out of his mouth. Lying -well speaking in general- is something he rarely did, and lying to his best friend about Calum's undying love was something that was eating him away. Love is a force that shouldn't be toyed with, but in this case keeping a secret ment more to him than a petty white lie. "Protective?" he croaked.

"It's not that." She dismissed quickly, dramatically throwing her arms in the air.

"It's not?"

As they neared the dormitories, Lucy's eyes grew glossy. "He looks at me-" She paused, not really knowing how to pin point how he feels. "Like he doesn't know who am I, almost like he's scared of me, Mikey." She groaned.

Rounding a corridor, Michael squinted, in the distance a mop of black-blonde hair was walking from the opposite direction, and sat in front of Lex's door. "Not frightened enough to stay away."
