Seraphinas POV

Tuesday 14th 4:59pm

An hour.
There's only one hour left.
One hour until I can kill the person who murdered my partner.
The partner who - according to Greyson - is still alive.
I keep replaying the sweet image in my head ; I see him, get him in a room alone with me and wrap my hands around his neck, feel the struggle under my hands and never look back.

"Are you sure you're ready for this? You might not get that much time."
Jackson sounds more worried than I am and part of me is grateful for that but seriously does he not have any faith in me?

"If Celeste has told Operative Fawn then you may not even be able to reach the place before she asks you to come back. You need to be quick. In and out." Mikeys blue eyes are focused on me. The panic he's feeling, more than obvious.

I hug him tight. I'm not surprised they're worried. The last time someone got a 'look' at Xavier they were killed and that person just happened to be my partner...Santiago Hernandez.

"Listen I'll be fine. I'll get a quick shot and walk right out. Nobody will even notice I'm there." I'm trying to sound relaxed but I'm miserably failing.
I'm just as worried, panicked...frightened as they are.
Not of Xavier but of the fact that my partner could still be alive. After all this time.

He squeezes me tighter than I expect. Flora told me Mikey gives the best hugs and I never believed her until now.

"Lucas will be there Sera. You need to stay focused. Not get distracted. Please...don't do anything you'll regret..."

He pulls away and guilt hugs me instead. 'Anything you'll regret.'
Why? Why did he have to say that? Of all things he could have said, he chose that.

"Thanks Michael but don't worry. It will be quicker than you think."

"Ok Sera I've sewn multiple tracker chips into your dress so if one fails we have a backup. Meaning I'll be more than aware of where you are. When you reach the party tell me your coordinates just to be extra sure." Flora has been planning this since the meeting. Her tracking skills are amazing (Which is why I'm surprised that she's ranked ninth) but she also knows just how risky this mission is.

I look at them. The three people who have been there from the beginning of my time here. I know that if I do find Xavier it will only be due to their hard work and of course...my awesome observation skills- no sarcasm intended.

8:03pm

I thank the driver as I carefully get out of the car, a waiter helping me as I do. One mission. I tell myself. Get in and get out.

I have to be careful tonight.

No distractions.

The party is outdoors, a huge table lined up with all sorts of party snacks, LED lights and spinners going in all directions. The Dj doesn't seem all that fancy but the music he's playing is louder than I can take right now.

There are columns all along the sides making the perfect square around the people inside. Concrete is beneath it, grounding the columns. I wonder if anyone was to accidentally push one over, the domino effect that would happen would be painfully beautiful.

The columns look older than they should be so I'm scared to test my theory. Beautiful people are in the shape of space that the columns have made. Suits, formal dresses, glasses of ridiculously expensive champagne - and then there's the waiters who look incredible. Balancing all those glasses and those tiny snacks on silver platters.
