"That is a pretty necklace."

I look down at the thin metal chain with the red flower that hung from my neck and rested against my school uniform.

"Yes it is. It was weird though. Some dude ended up throwing it up to my bedroom window in the middle of the night. He just left after that."

Shua looks down at me. His lips created a straight line while he nods.

"Do you have any idea on who gave it to you?"

"No," I still thought of who this mysterious guy was though it has been a good month or so. "Actually, there was a time that I thought it was Vernon. It was hard to see him and it's been awhile but I just have a feeling. I'm hallucinating aren't I?" I laugh at the end thinking, like why would Vernon give this to me and where would he get it from?

"It might be him, you never know."

I purse my lips, "Maybe."

We continue to walk the familiar streets to head back home. I missed this. It's been long enough that it was starting to go back to the time before we met. I don't want that again.

Shua abruptly stops in front of me and gets down on one knee.

What the hell, iS hE pRoPoSiNg?!

His hands move towards my shoes to fix the string that I never realized untied. Both of my laces were tied back again to it's two loops and the ends hanging down.

The male stands back up again showing me his small signature smile. His black pants had a dusty patch from where it rested on the cement ground.

"You could've just told me to tie my shoes just like any normal person would have done."

"I'm Seventeen's gentleman." He gasped having his mouth opened making an 'O' while his arms was an 'X' over his chest.

"And I'm Seventeen's cheerleader." I say as I jump around and pretend I had one of those sparkly pompoms. My backpack probably felt like it was going through an earthquake.

Giggles was the only thing that came out of our mouths as I finally calmed down.

"Sure baby carrot."

The streetlights flickered above us while we walk the neighborhood I live in. Stars shining brightly down.

"So... what have you been doing lately?"

Shua gave some thought before answering, "Hanging out with Vernon and preparing for things this summer. You need to come watch us perform more, maybe you can even meet his sister."

"Maybe when I have time, exams are soon." My feet found it's self kicking the tiny pebbles every time we pass by.

"Really? At least one more performance. Vernon has been asking about you lately, I'm sure he would feel honored for you to see him have a voice crack again."

I'm on the floor. I almost totally forgot him messing up his part because of the sudden higher pitch of his voice. It was not pretty I tell you but it was hilarious.

"Lucky for him, we were the only ones that witnessed it." I say while wiping my tears and trying to suppress my laughter.

"I'm sure someone was watching."

"Better if someone recorded it, he would have been doomed."

Shua laughs at the remark. Is he an angel because it seems like I have been blessed.

"His pride would be hurt for sure." He admitted.

"I would too, this is why I don't sing."

We were only a few meters from the empty house I live in. The nights ends too quickly.

"You can't be that bad. I want to hear you sing."

I scoffed, "Sure, you would be asking for your ears to bleed. I'm sure you don't want that."

Our feet reach the walkway towards the my house. I was going to walk up the first step to go up to the door till I feel myself loose balance.

"Hey hey hey. Carrot, I got you. You can open your eyes."

Of course, Shua stopped me from falling, how cliche. His left arm was wrapped around my waist while his right hand held my shoulders so I don't fall forward. Our body's close once again. The heat that radiated off each other made me warm during this cold night.

I stand up straight again and look down to find the culprit of my fall.

My laces, of course.

"Maybe you should wear your velcro shoes instead since you can't keep your laces tied." Shua snickers at me while looking at the white string that was let loose.

I slightly push his shoulder, "I'm not three. Anyways, you were the one that fixed them last."

"Whatever, go inside." His hand rested on my shoulder to lead me up the steps safely.

I unlock the door and take my shoes off before heading inside. My backpack was set down on the bench that was placed at the front of the hallway of the house and my shoes in the white compartment under the bench. I quickly run back outside to catch Shua before he leaves.

"Oof, what are you doing?" I heard him say while I gave him a hug from behind.

My arms wrapped around his waist while I rested my head on his shoulder. I stood on my toes with my black socks on so I can reach a comfortable height to him.

"I think we both need it."

I was tempted to mention cheerleader Seungkwan but then I wouldn't know how to continue this chapter after that.

Thank you for reading if you made it this far. :))
