| Concrete and Rocks |

It's already mid-March and days of Exams have already been revealed. The last bell has rung to signal students that the gates would be closing. Though I have already spent my 10 hours at school, the teachers thought it would be best for me to stay a little longer.

My face and arms were covered in dark bruises and long cuts.

One group of girls noticed the shining embellishment around my neck and called her boyfriend to come take it from me. Still not knowing where is came from, I still kept it and for some reason it holds great value to me. Since I didn't comply with the elder, he tried to forcefully take it. I stopped counting how many times pushed me down on the concrete right in front of the school. Thankfully one of the gate guards were able to scare him off.

So here I am, in one of the Head advisor's office. She is one of the only people in this school I talk to a lot, mainly for studying purposes.

"So would you mind telling me what happened out there?"

My head was still kept down while my fingers fiddled with the necklace that was in my palms.

"Akari..."

"Can I just go home?" I say with my head still down.

"How did you guys get into a fight?"

I give out a loud sigh and lift my head up.

"He wanted something that was mine and I wasn't going to let him have it."

She moved away from the desk and slouched in her rolling chair.

"I have to tell your parents about this-"

"No, please don't. I don't want them to worry while they're on their trip." Lies.

"Okay... what did he want?"

I take the chain and raise it up for her to see. The advisor knows what it is as she has asked why it was in my possession before. I haven't had it for long but she knows it's mine.

She puts her elbow on the edge of the brown desk while her chin was held by her hand.

"I see... I'm sure that Mr. Gilman will heavily punished for his actions."

That was obviously not going to happen. Schools here don't care about bullying or student injuries. It's all things like no having food in class or no personal electronic devices out. I'm fine though, the more negative effects against a person because of me, the more I'm a target.

I see her write down something on a white slip. She hands me the paper with black ink scribbles all over.

"Give that to the nurse, she will take care of you. Afterwards, you can go. Make sure you tell the gate guards that I was the one that released you, okay?"

I stand up and take my backpack with me. Making sure I didn't leave anything else, I give her a small bow and head towards the door of the small office.

My black shoes made an echo throughout the empty and quiet halls. I continued to walk the long halls that was filled with lockers on both sides and a few doors to teachers' classrooms. At the end of the hall, before you would turn to exit the school, was the nurse. It didn't seem like they were here so I helped myself and entered.

The paper was set down on the white counter while I rummage for a few bandages. I wash and clean my cuts in the small sink, making sure I didn't get my uniform wet. The dry towel was used to wipe away any dirt that was on my dark velvet blazer and pleated skirt. I apply some ointment and place the patches over my cuts prevent infections. I didn't mind the bruises on my face because they were small compared to the ones on my arms.

Finally done with cleaning myself up, I walk out of the small white space and turn to the doors to exit the school.

Finally.

The necklace was hanging from my neck while I walk out the gates.

My shifts was canceled for the week again because Aunties children are there to take care of everything. Lucky they said they will still pay me, only half but it's better than nothing.

The pace I was walking at was very slow and can annoy anyone if I was in their way. Stones were everywhere on the streets and since I was bored, I started to kick them around. My eyes weren't paying attention to what was ahead of me but to the rocks I was kicking.

One stone was tossed in front of me, back to my feet. I raise my head to see who kicked it back.

I notice the guy with curly-ish hair standing in front of me.

"Hey." His smile wide showed all of his teeth and even some of his gums.

My head was tilted a bit, still confused on the identity of this person. He seems familiar.

"Umm... hello." I slightly wave to him.

The boy's smile slowly faded so I was able to see his face more clearly.

What a minute...

"You look like Leonardo DiCaprio."

Short but necessary. This is kinda a character introduction. I'm sure many of you know who it is. :))
