Mal's POV

Vlad and I were on our double date with Ben and his girlfriend Raelynn Fitzherbert, daughter of Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert and twin sister to Ruby. She had green eyes like her mother and brown, wavy, medium length hair and was in a short lavender dress.

"Some more Mici Vlad?" I asked.

Vlad nodded. "Yes my Countess."

I blushed as I put more Mici on his plate and he smiled. "Thank you my love."

"Your welcome my prince." I replied, taking his hand in mine.

I turned to Raelynn and smiled. "So Raelynn, are you enjoying the food?"

Raelynn nodded. " It's great and Vlad may I ask, do you plan on going back to Transylvania and becoming Voivode of Wallachia and Transylvania and taking your father's name?"

I looked at Vlad who just had a look on his face that could give my mom's evil look a run for its money. I knew Vlad was on the fences about being Voivode and taking his father's name Dracula.

My mom and I had issues but nothing close to Vlad's relationship with his dad. He once told me that when Dracula was human he had two Turkish ambassadors from the Ottoman Empire come to visit him. It was his dad's chance to make peace with his most powerful enemy, Muhammad, whose empire could crush Wallachia and Transylvania with the wave of a hand.

They knelt down in front of his dad as a sign of respect to him but they didn't take off their turbans as it was customary to the Turk's religion of Islam but his dad took offense to this as he was an Orthodox christian and he also saw it as a sign of contempt. Because of this, his dad ordered his men to nail the turbans to their heads. Yeah, Vlad's dad is basically a psycho and dangerous.

"Well, that is something I need to think about. Castle Dracula is the place of my birth and the shadows of my past are there as well. And to answer your second question, no, I will never take my father's name." Vlad explained.

He held his hand out, reaching for me as he brushed a stray piece of hair away from my face.
"We don't get much time to be us anymore. It means a lot that you stopped by and did all this for me, especially with all the craziness we've been through together. I've missed you."

I bring my hand up to Vlad's face and wipe away some food that had been stuck there. Vlad chuckles when he realizes what I'm doing. "You can't take me anywhere."

We all shared a laugh realizing it was a joke then Vlad began to look around. "Do we have napkins or something?"

I nodded. "We do. I think I stored them somewhere."

Vlad's Pov

I looked in the picnic basket for napkins and I pulled out Mal's spellbook. "What's this?"

Mal chuckled nervously. "I actually threw it in last minute just in case it rained or something."

Then Vlad read the spellbook out loud "Speed reading spell... blonde hair spell... cooking spell... and here I was giving you props for setting all this up and fitting in well so well. For doing your best!"

Mal panicked. "Take back this moment that had past return it... reverse it..."

I realized she was trying to spell me so I got up aggressively and Mal was freaking out. "Are you trying to spell me because your spells don't work on me!"

Mal's lip trembled. "Vlad this has been so hard for me."

"What has? Dating the Son of Count Dracula? Dating me, whose father committed heinous acts on rats while he was in prison!?" I stared at Mal as I continued to yell. "I thought we were in this together!"

I saw Ben and Raelynn take their leave not wanting any part of what is going on as I wait for Mal to respond.

"We are in this together!" Mal cried.

"But we're not Mal. You've been keeping secrets from me and lying to me. I thought we were over this. This is not The Isle of the Lost!" I ranted angrily.

Mal was taken back by my remarks and her gaze turned hard. "Yeah, believe me, I know that."

"Then why are you doing this?" I asked.

Mal cracks. "Because I'm not one of those pretty pink princesses Vlad! I'm not one of those ladies of the court! I'm a big fake okay!? I'm a big fake! This is fake."

She points to the picnic and takes out her spellbook, casting a spell that turns the food back to a glass of milk and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

"This is who I am." Mal replies as her eyes brim with tears.

She ran out leaving me to my thoughts. I hated myself for yelling at her and I knew I had to go after her but then I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder and fell down. I looked up and saw Gabriel and Helena with a man in biker-like attire and a blonde haired woman around my age.

I just looked at them as the biker one stepped forward. "So this is Dracula's kid? Man, I thought he would be a challenge since he's, you know, Dracula's kid."

Helena just looked at him in disbelief. "This is no ordinary vampire Jack, he walks out in the day. He is a day walker and he has all the vampire's strengths with none of their weaknesses."

Jack just nodded and Gabriel sighed. "Regardless, it's time to send this monster back to hell. Kim, you got the stake and hammer?"

The young woman, Kim, nodded as she showed Gabriel the stake and hammer. "You bet Dad."

I was shocked, not only did Gabriel and Helena have a kid, but she is also a vampire hunter. I knew I had to think of something fast. Suddenly, I remembered that Tosh gave me some smoke bombs. I reached into my pocket as Kim placed the stake on my chest above my heart. "Time to die Vampire!"

I managed to grab a smoke bomb and smirked. "Not today."

I dropped the bomb and the whole place was engulfed in smoke. I took my chance, turning into a swarm of bats and flying away. With the danger avoided, I went looking for Mal.

No Ones Pov

Mal was in her VK uniform and she was crying as she poked holes in a box for her mom.

"I don't belong here." Mal cried, unable to fight back the tears. She picked up her lizard mom and placed her in the box. "Let's blow this popsicle stand."

She left a note for Evie and Vlad as she left her room. Mal got on her Vespa and drove off as fast as she could. When she came to the shoreline, Mal looked out at the Isle, her old home. Vlad spotted her from the air and realized what she was doing. Even though he had only packed his guns and sword, Vlad took his chance and managed to sneak into her purse in his bat form as Mal pulled out her spellbook. "Noble steed proud and fair you shall take me anywhere."

She started her Vespa and took off towards the water. Magic swirled around Mal as she skipped across the ocean heading to the Isle. Mal took a breath as she broke through the barrier and drove through the Marketplace. She stopped momentarily to rip off and crush a poster of her and Vlad as she drove up to the VK's hideout.

She parked her Vespa and hung her helmet on the handle bars before walking up to the entrance. Mal picked up a rock and looked up at a sign that said 'Danger Falling Rocks'. She threw the rock at the sign and the door leading to the stairwell opened. Mal made her way up the stairs and as she entered the hideout she tossed her purse in a nearby chair.

"Oww Bloody Hell." A voice muttered from inside.

She turned and picked up her purse as a hand popped out of it. Mal screamed as she threw her purse at the wall. Her panic quickly diminished as she realized it was Vlad emerging out of her purse.

He stood up straight, finally back in his human form but he was still bloody from being attacked by the Vampires Hunters. Mal on the other hand was furious he had followed her.

"Vlad!" Mal snapped angrily.

"Hey Mal." Vlad greeted, before falling over and passing out.
