Kokichi's POVAfter a few more days of school it was finally Friday. As I'm getting ready for school I can't help but get excited for this evening. All of this week me and Shuichi have been texting non-stop, and he doesn't seem to leave my mind. He texted me yesterday after school that we would be getting to an outdoor shopping area that was having a festival, apparently there'd be many alleyways and dimly lit places. He told me this, probably because he wants me to be cautious. But I'm not that stupid! I'd know better then to waltz into an alley, I'm not gonna get hurt today! I smiled and left to the school, arriving and meeting up with Shuichi. Rantaro told me to go to him if I feel uncomfortable around Shuichi, but Shuichi has become way more social over the week.. Was it because of what happened? I shook that thought away, I don't want him to fake his personality for me.. I would just feel bad. It would be like I'm controlling him, and that's a horrible thing to do! "Hey Kokichi, you excited for today?" His voice still stayed eerie, but I was used to it. "O-Of course I am!" We probably both knew that this felt like a date, i mean, i was fidgeting with my fingers the whole conversation. Whenever I was shy I'd always notice Shuichi smile, or his smile would widen. Even though we're friends, he's still such a creep!

..and the bell for today rung. We headed to class, walking with our classmates. Everyone was talking to each and goofing around. Even Miu didn't seem as bad today, she seemed to be going easier on Kiibo for once. As I looked at everyone, I locked eyes with someone. With him. A shiver went through my body and I looked straight to the floor. Kaito was staring at me, but he didn't look angry. He had a stupidly huge smirk, as if he was looking down on me. I felt myself tighten my grip on my backpack, was this fear or anger that I felt? Whatever it was I wanted it to stop. We walked into class and I shared a smile with Shuichi before I sat down in my chair and faced the front of the class. When our teacher walked in and started the lesson, I could feel his eyes on me. Usually only Shuichi stares at my back, but these pair of eyes where at my neck. I knew I was nervously sweating, and I tried my hardest to ignore it. Ignore Kaito. He's just a stupid good-for-nothing brat of a bully! For the rest of the class, I struggled focusing and my hands where slightly shaking. Why was I still so scared of him, I know Shuichi can protect me. Though.. On second thought, I don't want Shuichi to hurt someone for me. Not again. It's terrible.

The lunch bell! I happily turned around and looked Shuichi in the eye. Wven if I dis my best to hide my nervousness, he'd know what's up. He looked at me for a few seconds as we took out our bentos, then nodded as if I was telling him my problem verbally. We ate for a few seconds until Shuichi suddenly jolted up from his seat, his eyes burning with hatred as he went in front of Kaito's desk and slammed his hands on the desk. "S-Shuichi?-" was all I could mutter until his voice emerged. "You got something you wanna say, Kaitoboy?" My eyes widened, since I haven't heard Shuichi be so serious about something. "Do you mind, I'm eating here-" "Oh my bad! Do you mind, staring at Kokichi isn't exactly helping you here." The whole classroom was looking at the two with utter shock, then Miu leaned towards me, "Hey grape boy, what are they shittin about? I didn't notice spaceboy starin at ya, but Shushu is good at seein that shit aint he?" "M-Mm.." How can anyone understand her when she speaks, poor Kiibo. After a few seconds of Shuichi and Kaito staring eachother down, Shuichi came straight back to his desk and sat, continuing to eat from his bento as if he didn't just stand up to Kaito. The class, in confused harmony, went back to what seemed to be their normal lunch routine. I was too dumbfounded to question Shuichi, so I just continued eating..
The last bit of school was irrelevant.. I drifted off the whole time...

..and the weekend begins! Me and Shuichi packed as quickly as possible to make it to the festival in time. As we walked in I looked around at the decorations as if I was a little kid. Shuichi was watching me the whole time, his soft smile making me blush everytime I looked at him. It was strange, I never thought he'd make me happy. I never thought I would be happy. We walked through rows of goods and food, making stops every now and then to get a quick snack, and our conversations never dipped to a low and boring topic. This was my first friend, and here we are, hanging out like friends do! We made a quick stop at a bench, and Shuichi said he would be going to the restroom, "That's fine, I'll wait here!" He smiled, then his tone fell to his serious tone, "Don't go anywhere. Okay?" I blinked like an idiot and nodded, watching his smile return and him heading off to find a restroom. I looked up at the sky, smiling. This was the most fun I've ever had in my life! It was like I was a normal teenage boy, living a life with joy.. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder. I jolted away from the bench, startled by the sudden touch. The person was tall and hooded, but I could tell they where pissed I moved. In fear I quickly got up and ran, slipping a few times. They where chasing me, and I left Shuichi behind! At some point I made it to a dead end, and the only option was to run into a dark alley. Do I go or do I just face this guy head on..?
//oop would you look at that! You have the chance to choose! What a great cliffhanger, amirite?\\
