Gulf tried to explain his predicament to his boss, but Mew just couldn't wrap his head around the fact that Air would threaten Gulf. Giving up on their conversation, Gulf just sighed and asked for a few weeks off to focus on school, which Mew willingly granted him. Gulf didn't remember much else, just that he got home around midnight, drowned in a bottle of liquor, and passed out on his couch in his work clothes.

When he woke up, Gulf checked his phone to see thirteen missed calls from Mild and fifteen from Pear. He just rolled his eyes and crawled off of the couch to shower. Since it was Sunday and he hadn't planned on talking to Pear or Mild, Gulf figured he'd go to the campus café to study. Even though Pear worked at this café, Gulf knew it was her day off so he assumed it was safe to go there.

After a hot shower, Gulf put on a pair of ripped, blue jeans, a black Nike hoodie with matching Nike shoes, and a black cap to shield his eyes from the beaming sun. He drove to the café with his books, found a table by the window, and ordered some food Gulf sighed, pulling his hat down a little and getting to work.

He had been studying for just about two hours when Gulf heard a deep, silky voice next to him, "Excuse me?"

Gulf looked up at the baby faced boy, "Yeah?"

The tall stranger pointed to the chair across from Gulf, "Would you mind if I sat here?"

Not really wanting to be bothered, Gulf looked around only to find that the café was packed full of people. He sighed and moved a few of his notebooks to give the boy table room, "Go ahead."

"Thank you so much," the boy sat down and smiled gratefully, "I'm Champ. Nice to meet you."

Gulf nodded, "I'm Gulf." Now that he could see the other boy's face clearly, Gulf couldn't deny it. Champ was hot.

"What're you studying?" Gulf asked, taking a sip of his tea.

"Oh, I'm a second year in the engineering faculty," Champ answered. "What about you? I've that handsome face of yours around campus before."

Successfully charmed, Gulf smiled, "I major in business and entrepreneurship."

Champ raised his eyebrows, impressed, "Ooh, a business man!"

The boys chatted back and forth until the sun sunk behind the trees and the sky dimmed to a gentle orange, Gulf and Champ losing time in each other's company. It was the best day Gulf had had all week and frankly, he didn't want it to be over just yet. Before leaving the café, the two of them exchanged phone numbers so they could talk when they got home.

As soon as Gulf got home, he opened his phone to call Pear and Mild, wanting so badly to tell them about the amazing boy he'd just met. He sighed with the disappointing realization that they weren't talking to each other right now. Gulf sat down on his couch, voicing his thought out loud.

"I know that my mom and dad passing wasn't their fault. And it was hard on them two since our families all grew up together," Gulf rationalized, "But still, that gives them no right to go through my personal memories of them. Especially since they know that my parents are the one thing I keep to myself." Gulf groaned and buried his face in one of his throw pillows, "Ugh!"

While Gulf was trying to figure out what to do with his friends, Mew and Air were in the CEO's living room, having quite the conversation.

Mew crossed his arms, "What do you mean? You want me to fire him? Why?"

Air sighed and sat down on her boyfriend's couch, "Forget it."

"No, why do you want me to fire him?" Mew reiterated.

With a shrug, Air explained, "It's not that I want you to fire him, but I want you to stop trying to be close with him. I just know that he's been stressing you out lately and he tarnishes the reputation of your bank. The entire business!"

"What do you care about my business?" Mew scoffed, "It's my business and I can manage my employees."

Air squinted at the man standing on the man standing on the other side of the room, "I care because he's the whole reason we broke up the first time! He was driving us apart by keeping you at the office super late!"

Mew was in disbelief, "First off, my job, oh I don't know, running an entire company keeps me there late. And second, what broke us up was your willingness to spread your legs for any and everybody!"

Rolling her eyes, Air stood up, "You're going there? Really?"

"I'm sorry, you know I didn't mean it," Mew sighed as he massaged his temples, feeling a headache brewing.

Air scoffed as she stomped over to the door, grabbing her coat, "I'll come back when you're ready to stop throwing the past in my face."

Mew groaned and fell onto the sofa as Air slammed the door behind her. He was realizing the bitter fact that he had poor judgement when it came to love and it sucked.

More and more thoughts popping into his head, Mew didn't find Gulf's story about Air threatening him so unbelievable. Maybe he just wanted to believe that he'd gotten it right this time.

Gulf wanted to believe he had gotten it right this time, too. With Champ.

Gulf and Champ stayed up all night, talking about random stuff on FaceTime.

He knew it was too early to call it love, but Gulf couldn't help the way his heart fluttered when Champ smiled his million dollar smile. His heart pounded with every cheeky compliment and his stomach got butterflies whenever he heard Champ's hearty laugh. Gulf loved this feeling.

Gulf had only felt this way once before. He had only felt this way during the glorious month that he had what he so desperately wanted.

When he had Mew.
