She was lucky to snatch a part-time job that pays so well but was a bit lax to allow her to attend school.
Chinami found out that two of the members of the rising idol group, IDOLiSH7, were still high school students who were in their second year. But even if they go to the same school, they were in different buildings as Chinami's room was at the second building while the two idols' room was at the first building. So they can't see each other.
And it was better than seeing them everyday though because she'd get to see them at work anyway.
Chinami sighed. She didn't know if she'd feel grateful for landing a job or feel annoyed for working for idols. She was truly grateful, really. But working for idols? She had second thoughts, but she again thought of it for a second then realized who would complain if the pay is good? Clearly, ungrateful idiots.
Sliding the door open, she entered the room and Nana immediately greeted her good morning, following Chinami to her chair.
"So how was the new part-time job?" Nana asked.
Chinami just shrugged. "Fine, I guess?"
"So where do you work?"
The question made Chinami froze in her seat. She didn't want Nana to know where she worked so she decided to lie.
"Oh, somewhere," she once again shrugged, avoiding the question.
"Where is somewhere?" Nana asked further.
Chinami could feel her nerves get to her as Nana pried deeper. She didn't know why she had the feeling of wanting to hide her part-time job. Chinami trusted Nana, but she just had the feeling she needed to keep being a personal assistant a secret. Especially if she's working for IDOLiSH7.
She was really shocked to see Izumi Iori enter the building that day. It made her think what was his business there but it never occurred to her that Izumi Iori is a talent of Takanashi Productions. Now that she had an idea, seeing him, and the other one, would be a bit awkward for her. So Chinami decided to limit the times they'd meet each other.
The bell finally rang, signaling the start of classes that morning. Nana went back to her seat, telling Chinami to tell her the details later. But what details would Chinami say? She's working for a production company that produces idols? For the new idol group that caught her attention? No.
But nevertheless, she nodded her head. She guessed she would use the the time to think of an excuse.
Her head was filled with lame excuses. She works at a laundry shop, or is a babysitter for a rich person, or a tutor for a genius elementary kid, or even a maid. But not one of those exuses seem real as Chinami can't be a babysitter because she can't deal with babies. Actually not just babies, but also children, so being a tutor is out. Being a maid or a laundry lady would be perfect but lying wasn't her forte. It was a bit of a surprise Nana didn't notice her discomfort of lying. If only she was as good at lying like her father. Then again, she never wanted to be like her father in any way if possible.
Chinami sighed. Maybe a maid for a rich person would be good.
"Sendou," her English teacher called her, making her sat up straight like a deer caught by a spotlight. Everyone erupted into chuckles and giggles as their teacher sighed, "read the next sentence."
Chinami nodded and did as she was told. English wasn't her best suit but she still did her best. As she read aloud, there were words she could not pronounce properly and thus had the teacher end her reading, scolding her in the process.
Chinami once again sighed. Morning would be a bit difficult with a mind filled with something else other than school.
