chapter 13

A warm midnight breeze passed through Gines sleepy face as she realised she had forgotten to close the window before getting into bed

The news of her fathers return still haunted her mind, keeping her up till long hours into the night

She picked up her limpy body out of bed and began walking into the direction of the window that stood slightly cracked open

Her hands reached out to close it before realising her eyes caught a glimpse of a tall dark figure by the cottage door, panic rised into her throat as she debated her next actions

She decided to be brave and crept quietly out of her window, her bare feet pressing down on the damp grass from the evenings rain shower

"W-whos there"
she cringed at the anxiety in her voice, her hands trembled violently against her hips

The tall figure turned around rapidly, staring her petite body down, she shaked harder as another breeze swept throughout her body, sending goosebumps along her legs and arms

"Its me.. Gohan"

The young girl let out an exhausted sigh, she realxed herself as she attempted to catch her breath back

"Gohan you scared me! What are you doing here so late at night" Gine said glaring back at the dark figure of her brother

"I was training with Vegeta, guess we lost time huh" he chuckled warmly

The figures arm reached out and was placed on top of Gines forhead, she looked up confused

"But what about you Gine, why are you still awake, your not sick are you?"

The Saiyan girl swipped away Gohans gentle hand, she didnt like being babied around

"Im fine Gohan im not sick, theres just.. theres a lot on my mind"

A ray of midnight moonlight shined on the teenagers face, revealing a concerned type of facial expression that filled Gine with undeniable guilt

"Its just- well its about gok- i mean dad coming back"

The figures hand reached back to grab hers in a tight embrace, his hands were warm which were quick to make the young girl feel calmer for some odd reason

"How about we go and talk about it" said Gohan kindly, she could feel his caring black eyes staring down at her

Gine followed along with her older brother as he led the way to their destination, a warm spot in the mountains were the trees flowed over their heads creating a comfortable area to lay down on

It had been a habit inbetween the siblings that anytime one would get upset or anxious they would fly up to that area to talk it out

"So Gine tell me, what about dad is troubling you tonight"

The girl looked back nervously at her brother while she fidgeted with the moist grass sitting next to her

"I guess i just dont know much about our dad, can you tell me some stories of him"

Gohan sat still, his mind wandered around trying to pick point a story to tell to his little sister

"Ive told you many times about his battle with Frieza havent i?"

"No only once, and i barely remeber it"
a tone of curiousity peeking through in her voice

"Our dad single handled defeated the strongest being in the Galaxy, the all mighty lord Frieza they called him, but he didnt know would win, oh no it was a close match, dad barely made it out in tact"

Gine's face lit up completely like a sparkling christmas tree, everytime Gohan would tell her a story about him her heart would overflow with joy, she was proud to hear of the awesome person her father once was

"So tell me what happend" said Gine eagirly scootching up closer to her brother

"Frieza had brutally blown up Krillin infront of dad, he became furious and unlocked the super saiyan level you know so well, but back then dad had become the first super saiyan in a long long time, in fact im not even sure there had ever been one before him, Vegeta looked pretty shocked"

Gine got closer "continuee.."

"Well like i was saying, dad transformed into a super saiyan, which boosted his chances of defeating Frieza, but Frieza knew that so instead he threw a massive energy blast into the core of Namek, which meant the whole place would blow up in a short time"

"What did dad do?!" Gine spoke as she stared back wide eyed

"Dad knew there was still a chance of him defeating Frieza, but it was a close one and he didnt want to risk the rest of us getting hurt by the explosion, so he wished the Namekian dragon to teleport all of us except him and Frieza back to Earth safe and sound"

"AND DID HE WIN?!"

"wait Gine im getting to that" Gohan said a bit annoyed like

"The fight resumed and was succesful at causing Frieza a lot of harm, so he wouldnt be able to hurt any one else ever again, but with that being said there was seconds left for dad to get out of Namek in time to not get blown up, he searched and searched and found the ship me Krillin and Bulma had used to arrive, but the problem was that it didnt work and dad was quickly falling into a burning pit of lava"

"Wait, wait did dad die there?"

"NO, let me continue Gine"

The young girl giggled lightly at the impatience in her brothers tone by her constant questioning

"At the last second dad managed to find a spaceship to get him out, it was a small Frieza army pod that his minions had used to get there, he left with seconds left to spare and managed to arrive in a foreign planet were the native aliens treated his injuries and even showed him some of their techniques"

"Now ive finished" Gohan said cutting Gine off before she could say anything else

Gine sat back and gazed into the distance, taken a back by all the information she had just been given with

Her father sounded..incredible

"But-" Gine began "do you think he'll like me?"

Gohans feet flew up into the air, causing him to stand up, he looked down at his sister with the widest eyes she had ever seen along with a gaping mouth

"Will he like you?! Gine his going to love you, your his only daughter"

"Yeah but im a girl what if he doesnt take me seriously, what if he doesnt think its ladylike to do martial arts like mom does"

Gohan chuckled lightly

"Dads not like that, in fact i can vivedly remeber him telling me he would one day love to have a daughter"

"Why?"

"Dads extremely caring, its one of his most noticable traits, he had always wanted a daughter to love and care for, and to show martial arts too just like me or Goten"

A wide grin passed through the Saiyan girls face

Her father...her awesome father was finally coming back home
