grumpy fairies
the marauders woke up unusually early.
they were of course excited to see the slytherins rocking their glittery pink uniforms and could hardly wait till breakfast started.
"i'll go have a quick shower" james told the other boys while gathering his clothes.
"cmon lets go wait for him in the common room" remus said, mostly because he just wanted to get some tea.
so sirius, peter and remus headed to the common room.
"evans? what are you doing here?" sirius asked surprised.
"same as you are doing here" she replied without taking her gaze of the book that sat on her lap.
sirius could've sworn their was a slight smirk playing on her lips.
"uhh so where's potter?" she asked after a while.
"missed me did you" james said as he walked in, grinning and winked at her.
lily just looked back down at her book and inwardly rolled her eyes at how annoying he was acting.
"i think we should start heading down to breakfast, unless of course you want to miss the look of the slytherins" remus said as he got up.
and they all headed down to the great hall.

"where are the slytherins??" peter whined as he piled his plate for the third time with toast and eggs.
before any of them could answer, a few students spotted a group of people wearing pink glitter.
james snorted, they were all trying to hide their smiles, so that none of the professors could realize it was them, but luckily it wasn't only the marauders who were laughing, everyone in the great hall erupted into laughs and people were pointing at the slytherins who were glowering at them.
in remus' opinion, they looked like a bunch of grumpy fairies.
even lily was laughing despite herself. but they all quickly stopped once they saw mcgonagall marching up to them looking quite strict.
"don't even try pretending that it wasn't you guys that set this up"
no one spoke.
"and you miss evans? have you got anything to do with this?" mcgonagall looked sternly at lily, probably the first time anyone has seen her giving lily that look since they've started hogwarts.
lily looked to the ground and was about to apologize when james spoke up.
"no professor, she wasn't with us" james spoke quickly.
mcgonagall stayed quiet for a few seconds before turning back to face the boys and said "very well, mister potter, black, lupin and pettigrew, you will serve detention every weekend for two weeks" before marching back to the professor's table.
once she was gone, james told lily "your welcome" while puffing up his chest a little.
"thanks potter, but this doesn't change anything" she replied and then realized that she sounded quite rude so flashed him a small smile before gathering her things and leaving.
"LILY EVANS TOLD ME THANKS" james exclaimed excitedly as he grabbed some bacon.
apparently snape overheard james from the slytherin table. he clenched his fists, knuckles white, and scowled at james from his place. which made james snort louder than he has ever snorted because well, i think you'd all snort if you'd just seen severus snape scowling in a pink and glittery robe.
