HELEN
I returned to work and my workers were very happy to see me again, although I looked very skinny and different from what they used to know, most of them were still glad I came back. I thanked them for not ruining things during my absence and apologized for my careless behavior. My p.a was obviously the happiest, she was the one that knew how bad I had turned and she was glad to see me back again.

I decided to be there for Nancy and Mike, it wasn't their fault that I couldn't get a hold of myself. I called Nancy and although she sounded surprised, I told her I'll be in her house shortly.

I got to Nancy's house and apologized to her for my selfish behavior. I knew she didn't deserve the way I treated her but I wasn't thinking straight. I also told her how I've resumed therapy and how I'm now doing better than before. We hugged each other amidst tears and she forgave me.

I told her I'll be her best lady and I'll gladly walk with her down the aisle. She told me the wedding was in five months time and I knew we didn't have much time. 'Omg five months Nancy? We have to go shopping, we need to book the hall and do so many things, five months is too small' I told her.

Calm down Helen, we just want it to be a small get together, you know like a family thing? We don't want to make too much noise and we can also go for the shopping anytime, she said.

'Alright how about we start by checking stores online and then we'll check out stores around and sample cakes and you know all other stuff'. Breathe Helen we'll do all that. How about dinner? Nancy asked
We had dinner and I left her to go home.

I called Mike after taking a shower and apologized to him for my behavior. I told him I don't have a problem with him getting married to Nancy and they have my full support. We ended the call and I went to sleep.

Mike's POV
I ended the call with Helen and called Nancy immediately. Hey Nance, how's it going with you? 'I'm good, what about you?' I'm okay I answered her. Look Helen just called me now to apologize, 'She just left my house some hours ago and she was looking better now' Nancy said over the phone. Wow! I'm so happy, looks like the plan worked perfectly. ' Do you think we should tell her?' Nancy asked sounding concerned, no let's wait until we're sure she's really changed! I answered her swiftly. Alright Mike goodnight! Goodnight Nance. I ended the call and drifted to sleep.

HELEN

I woke up feeling very weak, I couldn't really do much I was just so tired, I decided to take the day off and call my P.A to inform her that I wouldn't be coming to work today. I couldn't eat well too do I just took tea and went back to relax. Halfway into the day I started feeling dizzy, I noticed some tiny swellings in my neck and armpit like a week ago but I didn't really pay much attention to it. I realized now that it has gotten bigger although painless. I wasn't sure what was happening so I tried to grab my phone, the floor started spinning and I blacked out.

I woke up in the hospital with Nancy by my side. I was surprised to see her and I wondered how she got me here. Nancy? What's going on? I asked her.

'I was on my way home from work and I kept dialing your number for hours but you weren't picking up, I called your work place and they told me you were absent so I decided to stop by at your house, to my surprise I met you lying on the floor unconscious so I brought you to the hospital'.
We were still discussing when the doctor walked in, 'Miss Helen, how are you feeling now?' I'm fine doctor, although I feel very weak'. I answered her.
'I'll like to ask you few questions and I want you to answer me carefully' He said smiling. Alright Doc, go ahead. 'Have you lost weight recently?' Yes doctor! 'Okay, have you been feeling pains in your joints and maybe bones? Actually I have but not excruciating pain so I've been managing, 'what other symptoms have you been feeling Miss Helen, tell me? Well doctor I've been  very weak and I noticed that I also get bruised easily, my nose bleeds once in a while too. Nancy looked at me in shock, I looked at her and smiled. How long have you been noticing all these symptoms? The doctor asked, it should be up to six months doc, I responded with doubt.
'Well Miss Helen, after you were brought here I noticed the swellings in your neck and armpit so I decided to run different tests on you. From the results I have here, you have Leukemia.

Nancy looked at the doctor, looked back at me and then back at the doctor. I'm sorry did you say Leukemia as in Cancer of the blood? Oh my God Helen why you! Why does it have to be always you! She cried.
Please calm down madam, don't scare her. We need to commence treatment immediately as it wasn't detected early. I must commend you for being strong but since you have been noticing symptoms you should have seen a doctor. Anyways We need to start your treatment immediately as we can't afford to take any chances.

I didn't believe what I was hearing, I had Leukemia, I Helen has been diagnosed with Leukemia? Wow. This was not what I was expecting but anyways if I had only few time to live then I'll surely make it worthwhile.
